Terry 'ACL' Hammond (11/19/2010)

Too soon.
It seems just yesterday he was making us all laugh with his story of 7 mistakes. I already miss his signature triple commas.

# 50~~~ Remember those who no longer ride,,, and carry them with you when you ride...

How very sad, I didn't have the pleasure to meet Terry but enjoyed his many posts and agree, his special humor will be missed.

Prayers and condolences sent to his family and dear friends.

Ed & Sharon

Re: Terry 'ACL' Remembered

Dinky Diesel, Bigmak96. Scout, Womantriker and I went to Moonshine for lunch. We each had a burger, maybe some had two, but I think we all shed a tear or two talking with the folks there. Helen couldn't talk, she was so choked up when she was trying to talk with Carole. I got a bit misty eyed talking with Jerry Waggoner and Bob Johnson. Met Alan LeDuc (founder of MTF). We got back to the motel and Tim Yow and Rick Martin were waiting for Alan to show up to ride with them. Bygdawg and his bride pulled in while Tim and I were tearfully greeting other. Lots of folks gathering and we will be going to the church soon. Womantriker has about worn her camera out and I'm sure will be posting more pictures later in the week.

Nice picture of you guys. I wish I could have come down too. Thanks Mac for keeping us updated...:)

My wife & I had the pleasure of spending a day with Terry last summer riding out of Catamount Lodge in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. (Bob Hostetter of the Concours Board arranged the lodging; he is the one in the attached pics with Terry) We had a great time riding up to Bolt Castle and hearing his stories of how he got the name "Relentless" that is on his ST & how the "Austin City Limits" screen name came about. It was evident on how big a heart he had and ironic that his heart is what gave out on him. We will always cherish the memories & want to extend our sincerest condolences to his family.

Well, the turn out exceeded my expectations. The sympathy line to the family went on for the full four hours and was still going when the MC contingent went for dinner:
Here is a small number of the riders who came to pay tribute to a fallen friend.

I was blown away by the total miles ridden to get to Casey.
We will carry his memory far into the future and far by distance.
He will always be in our hearts.

There were 33 of us that showed at the Pizza Hut for dinner from 16 different states. There were more motorcyclists at the church who did not show at the pizza place, so I really don't know how many M/C riders came to Casey for Terry.

Well I logged on last night after 4-5 days off the site and saw the front page. I was shocked, I had to read it over about 3 times to make sure what I was reading. I walked into the other room where my wife was in a daze. Told her what happened and she was shocked also. I went to Moonshine last year alone and took her with me this year. Probably only talked to him 3 times, just briefly, due to his popularity he was always talking to someone, but could tell he was a great human being. I will miss his humorous posts.
R.I.P. ACL you will be truly missed.

There are many of us who are there in spirit. Thanks to all that represent us at Terry's memorial.

I just learned the news and am stunned and saddened. I first met Terry at the Moonshine Run before they started getting numbered. As was already said, when you talked to Terry you felt his interest was genuine and he had his own way of making everyone feel special. It is clear just how special he was.

Life goes by too quickly.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

I don't know how I missed this post till now...This leaves me with few words...What a loss...

The world is definitely not as well off as it was with Terry in it...

I was just catching up on things and saw the banner at the top..what a shock. ACL was so full of life. Never met him, but seemed like we would get on. Not the way I expected he would go, given we are on a motorcycle forum, but seems like he was doing stuff he liked. RIP.
