Wow oh Wow! Rode a K1200GT today! Did I say Wow?

What is it on an RT that I am missing on my ST that is worth 5000 grand for you? I mean c'mon guys,,,,,it just don't makes sense.....to,,,,,,me,,,:shrug2:

My best friend bought an 05 RT in March of 2006 for about 16K
Me I bought an 05 non ABS for 13K

Here are my farkles that I needed and he didn't or options that would bring them to be as similar as possible:

ABS: 1000
Seat: 600
Windshield: 200
Cruise Control (good one): 800
His horn/lighting/suspension is/are better out of the gate.

So you are talking roughly 15K for me and 16K for him.
Not to mention being the that bike is more than 100 pounds lighter, its going to go through tires way less then mine.

People say 5K more but in reality, I would say that difference is much more likely between the ST and the GT, not the RT.

Ah who the helllll cares anyway??????????

Kempo,

I'd never make the offer to buy you dinner and beer if you find a clean GS at a Rally. You'd be sneaking out at night with a bucket and rag .....and my credit cards do have limits.:D:p:

Darn Batman!!! FOILED AGAIN!!!!

Tom, I've been to only a handful of BMW rallies (single digits, not 100 like some people:D), but I've liked every one. Good locations, lots of interesting iron to check out, and a colorful cast of characters.

I have seen a clean GS at a BMW rally. Two, in fact, at the same rally in New Hampshire, 2004. Two middle-age guys showed up on Friday afternoon on spit-shine clean silver and blue R1150GS's. A few minutes behind them, an Audi wagon pulled up. Two women got out and helped the guys unpack their camping gear and set up their tents, camp chairs, lanterns, etc., and then the women drove away.

On Sunday morning, the women in the Audi returned, gear was packed, and the car drove off. A short while later, the guys left on their still clean GS's. I'd wager the only dirt they saw all weekend was the access road to the Pemi campground. They were the exception, for sure.

I dug back through my photos and found a shot with one of the bikes. (The guy pictured is not one of the riders.)

.... at the same rally in New Hampshire, 2004....

Bones,

I would expect nothing less .... from a New Hampshire rally !

The only rally I've EVER been to in New England was CT-SToc. I think there was one dirty GS in Kempo's driveway .......... the tidal wave from the Hot Tub may have rectified that unsatisfactory situation.:D

The dirty GS in Kempo's driveway belonged to Karen's husband, so it's probably used to tidal waves, fish, the whole wet thing.

(And New Hampshire ain't Connecticut!)

I've always been quite annoyed at the exceptional cleanliness of New Englanders. It's despicable.

I clean my pie plate every time, that much is true. I've even cleaned fish (without Karen's help).

I thought Connecticut was where the New Hampshire BMW GS owners went to visit playgrounds and register as sex offenders.......... or was that Vermont???????:

keep it up Padden! (I see you've gotten into the beer a little early today)

It's only fast if the final drive holds up and you can afford to repair it, if you can find the dealer to do the work within a month or two after he finds the parts !:06biker::06biker::06biker:
