You got to get behind the mule, in the morning and plow!

Good morning!
Here’s your coffee. Todays variety is Kjeldsberg - A brazilian love affair….
It gets your ticker tickering.

There’s even some brown bread with pickled herring, or a cheese called Norvegia ( non political despite the name).

-8˚c/18f, sunny, calm now but a gale warning for this afternoon.

A walk, cooking and reading.

Mrs Stu and her parents are visiting my daughter and family later.
I get very unsettled being around the inlaws, so I’ve set a maximum of one meetup pr week. This weeks quota is already full, so I’ll just stay at home.

Have a good one, may snow and snot not bothering you today!
Stu

Good morning Stoo, you're a duck. Ta.
It's cool and windy, a bit brrrrr in the strong easterly. The birds are fed so let's breakfast.
I've got an oven to get out and do a bit of refurbishment on, plus change the outlet. Breakfast will have to be quick. Before the oven I've got some ebay sale NOS Hein Gericke Gortex Troosers to post out.
It's all go.
Av a gud un and remember, be kind.
Upt.

I've still got to find a two year old too. I got some strange looks asking around yesterday.

DO THEY THINK/KNOW WE ARE STOOPID.
THIS FROM THE BB BLEEDING C THIS MORNING.
"Firstly, rising inflation means things cost more - so today's 3% figure means if a bottle of milk cost £1 a year ago it now costs £1.03".
WHO KNEW?
PLEASE TELL ME THIS WOULD NEVER MAKE MAIN STREAM MEDIA ANYSHERE ELSE ON THIS PLANET?

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for having coffee ready Stu, but it’s a little early for pickled herring.

Teddy woke me up at 3 f’ing 30, pacing the floor. Yep, he wanted out. I get up and find he only wants out to run in the 2” of snow that has fallen overnight. After a few minutes of making snow angles, he was ready to get cleaned up and promptly laid down and went back to sleep. Me, I’m up. Pfffttt.

25, with a high of 29. Won’t be above freezing until Saturday. Can’t complain.

John

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Stu. 49F on the dog walk with a little of this and some of that to make the morning sky.
last week I received an invite to a lunch with the CEO of the Parkinson Wellness Recovery gym I go to. not sure but I believe the lunch is a thank you for people who donated to a fund. funny invite just said to have lunch and a date and time, but not why. I have gym at 10am to 11am this morning so after class I will hang around for an hour till lunch and see what happens.
75F should be the high this afternoon. enjoy the day

stay safe

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee and veggie cheese Stu.

@Upt' North thanks for your 2 cents err 2% on the matter.

Iced coffee here again this morning. -15/-20 dark and cloudy, headed to -2/-7 and maybe a lick of Sun. The consensus is the ice will be gone mid June. Should have bought an ice bike...

Work wise, the motor in the HVAC unit is kaput. They are unsure if they can find a replacement that will work. If not, we're in for a challenge since they built the space around the unit located in the basement. Some engineer's grand idea to save on ducting, putting the unit next to the server room.

Hope everyone has a great say and doesn't lose their cool.

Obo.

Oh well, just couldn't crawl out from under the duvet this morning. Chief of Staff went groceries shopping early this morning without disturbing me. When she returned I was still snuggly under there and then heard the back door opening ..... sleepy reaction time, leapt out of bed ready to take on intruders (not that we get them around here) down the stairs .... to the comment 'well, that's enough to scare anyone'.... you've guessed it... we don't wear pyjamas to bed  She was in tears of laughter.... so much for the big burly hubby defending his fortress

Anyway, the MOT went well, only advisory was rear brake disc approaching it's limit. So CMSNL have more business from me. I know I could go aftermarket, but I like to stay original if at all possible, and my wallet can take it!

G'morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Stu! It's too early for pickled herring for me as well, but I'll have some of the cheese...and I'll be glad to partake in some pickled herring later on.

We have a mix of sun and clouds today, but it's cold. -18°C/0°F right now with a rather nasty windchill of -28°C/-18°F, -10°C/14°F with a feels-like of -18°C/0°F later. I'll have to brave it for a bit, as I need to finish clearing my balcony. I got a little over half of it done yesterday, but the snow was just too deep and heavy and it was too much for me to do in one go. I'll have to wait until the anti-inflammatory kicks in though...yesterday's efforts turned my left index finger into a cocktail sausage, once again - can't bend it, hurts like hell.

And on that note, everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the early coffee Stu but I'll take a hard, permanent pass on fish products at any time of day, for any reason.

Not the best start to a day: Mickeysoft's latest update to my desktop has effed up my network connection data, apparently, so I have no internet connectivity.

What I have instead is a new raft of unwanted thingys on the startup / prelogin screen, and a new notification that "Your computer's location information is in use". Having never seen either of these "features" , and being generally skeptical / untrusting of the value of such changes relative to their cost, once I find and fix the cause of the internet issue I'll go on a jihad to get rid of the bloatware.

Effing stoopid Mickeysoft. Eff 'em all, every last one of them.

[EDIT: well, huh. Whatever was wrong has magically reversed and corrected itself, seemingly. Without my having done anything except run the network troubleshooter, which reported that it "reset Ethernet Connection 2" but otherwise failed to correct a problem, things are once again working as expected. Effing Mickeysoft.]

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

It's still cold and according to the Weather Prophecy we have two more really cold nights to go. They are still saying 50* or higher on Monday. That translates to swamp conditions around here.

You know it is cold in the Midwest when the slot cars are set up:

Slot car tracks have changed.

You cats be safe and do nothing.

Good morning, will be as soon as my neck stops hurting, never sprain your neck. Safety tip! Inspect the ladder for structural integrity. Me old man warned me any injury in your youth will haunt you later in life. Got to admit pain killers are a lot better than Forty five years ago. Second cup of coffee helps, thanks guys. Ah what do I have to do today? Take out garbage, take Wife to eye doctor appointment, nap ,eat lunch ,hang out here for a while or putter in the Shop (count 10 mm sockets). Have to decide if I'm keeping my Transmission rebuilding tools, or selling them. Half are for what is now called Vintage cars. Another factor is I don't remember what some are for, haven't used them in years. Ok this topic is getting me depressed. Weather, beautiful rainy day,6 +C or 42 F High today 9 C /49 F wind gusting to 26 mph from the east. Forecast for next week looks good temperatures above 10 C and Sunshine, spring is just around the corner!
Ok time to make stuff happen,G

They're just talking to their audience in a way they understand. You don't write a PhD paper for a 3rd grader to read. Just sayin'...

An early(er) morning for me to get out the door for work. Grabbed another cheap snowthrower to flip. I have a feeling I'll get stuck with these for 3 years until the next actual snow that we get...and more flak from the missus for the clutter. Can't win.

It was 20F/-7C when I rolled out. Traffic was oddly light. Almost considered the bike but I need gas in it and didn't have time to stop. And it's cold. And I had extra stuff to carry I didn't want to strap onto the seat. Hot coffee to warm me up and some tasty eats for fuel. Thanks & take care y'all!
