What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Oh, and I'm installing my Uni-go style trailer hitch! I'm not sure if it's the real hitch or a reproduction, as the PO told me a local welder built the trailer. I have tip over bars, so I have to replace the lower M10-1.25x50mm bolts with 60mm so they are long enough to then put nuts on the ends. You want to talk about difficult to locate in Stainless Steel! You can find them in black oxide easily, but not SS. The "fine" pitch is what makes it so hard. I ended up compromising and getting some button head SS ones from EBay for $10 for 4. The allen head style that are on there were $5-10 EACH!? :censored:

I think don't on the Ebay ones, I bought them and the heads were going to strip out, I replaced them with the $10.00 each ones.

#5 link to the post for the good bolts. This week I'll see if they bent, she took a quick nap after a 16 hour ride, bent the tip over plate but nothing else, mirror cover even stayed on.

I bought these, and planned to cut the excess length off if there's any interference.

I hope these are better than your experience, otherwise I'll be buying a set of these, unless the Ace Hardware in town has some. Rurual King has a TON of hardware, but 75% of it is SAE :censored:

Watched an aggressive rider making his way through traffic as I was leaving work. I had traveled about 4mi when traffic came to a stop and one of my biggest fears had happened. He had impacted a vehicle. Thankfully, he was up and conscious and geared properly. Police arrived within a few minutes too

So this rider's selfishness likely results in an hour or more delay to hundreds of drivers - maybe going to work, maybe going home, maybe still working, maybe with small children in the car, wailing while mommy or daddy slowly begins to unravel as they sit helplessly gridlock in a 4-lane parking lot.
Note: the above are only a few of thousands of possible scenarios, but it all begins with one self-absorbed rider who believes that what they want, is more important than anyone else.
End of rant.
For now.

I am looking for a hitch for my 2006 ST1300 and would much prefer the one from Uni-Go. Where did you find one? Can you help me? Thanks!

Well the ST was a big sister to my son in laws Guzzi he bought. Let him use the shop to tear it down and look for gremlins. After a couple days of some TLC - got back together with new tires and good bill of health. Went for a ride and followed to observe. All good

I tested my rear flat, abandoned at a 24/7 restaurant, and found the slightest leak at the valve stem when I sprayed water on it.
Was it just my imagination?
It held air at 30lbs for 2 hours while I finished another job.
Had my wife follow me home last night in the dark, and I rode for 12 of the 27 miles home... and it flatted again.
Guess it was not my imagination.
Find a trailer today, get it home and have the rear car tire remounted.

The menards and home depote have a large selection of stainless steel bolts including fine pitch. https://www.menards.com/main/search...olts&tid=f0faf112-3ddb-44a5-9c41-43517862f8d8

tread design looks made for specific side - how’s the handling?

State Troopers or someone flagged my 1300 as a highly desirable and valuable find, with a yellow ribbon.
" Tie a yellow ribbon round the old ST,
It's been one long night, do you still want me?"
(With apologies to Tony Orlando and Dawn)
Only took about 11 hours or less...
But it's safe at home now, for valve stem swap tomorrow... I hope.

I put on a new rear tire , Bridgestone T31 . Rides on rails now ,as we say over here. No complaints about the Roadsmart 3 I took off, but getting worn and scalloped . Changed fluids ,oil + filter , brake and clutch fluid and looked things over. Out in garage putting on an extra light now. The days are getting shorter.

Looks to me like you've done enough work for now.
I highly recommend you get about scuffing in that new rubber... you're burning daylight!

I know the tread design is not uniform but it handles great! I’ve already been caught in a surprise rain and no worries because I knew I had a nice deep wide footprint out back.

I could take measurements of the hitch before I permanently install it. It came as a package with the scratch built trailer I bought last year.

I stopped there yesterday, and they didn't have any in stainless, and the only one they had in that pitch were hex head. Got my eBay bolts today, will try them tomorrow.
The one by me has a whole wall of stainless bolts. It's my go to place.
