Good morning all

There's a pot of fresh-brewed French roast waiting for you. Please have some.

After a beautiful, mild day yesterday we're expecting continued mild temperatures today (it's 41°F now, may rise to 52) but with showers/rain from 0700 until 1400 hours. Better rain than snow, I say.

Not a lot planned for today. Our e-visas to enter Laos have been approved- yay! Next we probably need to do the same for Vietnam and possibly Thailand- I haven't yet checked the entry requirements for the latter. I guess I could kill an hour or two looking into that.

Oh, and uke practice, of course.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Keith, 45F on the dog walk with some clouds and stars to walk along with us. it was a chilly 45F with a small breeze that made me pull my hoody up to keep my ears covered. 69F should be the high. I do have gym class this morning with nothing planed for the afternoon. Nap? we will see. enjoy the day.

stay safe

Good morning and thx Keith!

Woke up faaar to early…
So I put my nonfunctional Korg M1 on the dining table, replaced the internal 3volt battery, soldered on one extra, downloaded the factory sounds as a sysex file to my laptop and exported it to the synth.
Voila, it worked, it’s alive.
Bought it in 1988, it’s been dead for 15 years….

That’s enough for today.

Yesterdays consert was nice, I’ve missed playing with a band.
According to the non biased Mrs Stu, it was the best christmas consert ever.
Now I have to buy her a christmas present….

Just above freezing, calm, sunny!!!

Have a good one!
Stu

From yesterdays walk….sun barely over the horizon these days.

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Ray. Keith.

-8C but clear, headed to -4C. No snow today, but a warnings for later in the week have been issued. Looks like a rain event, which will be compounded by the recent snow and cold. Welcome to Canada, eh.

Lots to do today, but have to get in that weasly birthday wish. Not the hairy potter kind, the suited litigator type. Enjoy, eh.

Hope everyone has a wunnerful one, whatever it may be.

Cheers,

Obo.

Ay up, it was nothing Obo. Really!
Ta me duck, I need coffee.
It's just after lunch here, 3 more hours and it'll be dark.
Just a few light showers today so far, which is a good job because it's been pretty wet. We were just about cut off from the rest of Northumberland yesterday. But we had beer, wine, whisky and venison. No panicking occurred.
Today has been a day of card writing, and yes, I did forget Weasly.......again.
Happy 21st Weasel, that's pretty old for a Weasel. I saw a nice one last week, quick little long tailed blighter.
Av a gud un and remember, if you want to know how old a Weasel is, don't cut it in half and count the rings.
Upt.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Keith.

And Happy Birthday, @Weaselinsuit ...

It's cloudy and 31 in MA this morning, rising to 42 with occasional rain as the day progresses.
We can expect more rain, tonight.

As predicted, we did nothing, yesterday.

Today, Brenda will make a trip to the laundromat, while I head out to the gym.
Afterward, we'll do some Christmas shopping, and maybe head out to a building supply company.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

G'Day...

2°C, drizzle, ghastly... no wind though...

No office mud, have to restock first... (plus the darn cleaning woman hid my (private) mug somewhere in the facility :censored: )

w/e uneventful, spent Sunday tinkering in the bike shed, making use of the stacking boxes gifted by ze GF...
Lots of ST parts went into them... hence got rid of a few cardboard boxes...
will need to create an inventory spread-sheed though...
I found like two sets of head bearings, two sets of fork bushings, 4 sets of hub dampers + inserts, and much, much more...

The year is almost over... originally I'd figured that we've flying cars and stuff by 2024...

Instead:

human ingenuity at its best...

Well, can't have it all, can you...

have a good one...

Think nothing of it. friend. My pleasure.

@Obo may be channeling me today... don't do it! You'll never be the same, you can trust me on that.

Yeah, I've been up a while, on time actually, but I've doddled for too long on the connected device, and now have to scurry (kinda like a weasel? Happy Birthday, Ted!) to get out of here on time.

Last evening we celebrated my brother- in- law's 69th solar circumnavigation, but not solo, and had a nice dinner with him and his offspring with their spouses. Decent kids, Roz' surrogates.

Y'all are blessed that I don't have more time this morning to wax loquacious, maybe tomorrow.

My chainsaw tool still hasn't arrived, I'll need to track it down today. Roz is anxious for me to chop off holly limbs and run the Christmas lights on the porch. Seems I always end up doing it when it's raining.

Oh, yeah. It's raining here today and tomorrow, but it's warmer at least. Later.

Mornin’ all. Thanks, Keith.

Yeah, I’m late. It was hard to get moving this morning. Evidently, the severity of arthritis pain is directly proportional to the amount of rain received. We got over 2” of rain last night and this morning, nothing wanted to work. The fingers wouldn’t bend, the knees wouldn’t bend, and the left hip hurt like hell. It took half a pot of Cafe Bustelo before I could get moving.

@Sadlsor If you need to lock the crankshaft on the saw, just stuff some braided rope in the spark plug hole, when the piston come up, the rope in the cylinder stops the travel.

So I put my nonfunctional Korg M1 on the dining table, replaced the internal 3volt battery, soldered on one extra, downloaded the factory sounds as a sysex file to my laptop and exported it to the synth

Been there. Last year I put memory batteries in a Korg DW9000 and in a Yamaha SY77. I had missed the analog patches.

Morning all! Still a bit dark but what light there is shows overcast skies. 6C with a high of 7C and maybe some late afternoon sun to come.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!

Various trades arrive today to do the final touches on the house so I'm working from home as my wife is over in Vancouver post Taylor Swift concert. She said it was amazing and the bit I watched on the livestream she sent me seemed to back that up.

Started me thinking what the best concert I ever saw was. There are a number of great ones but I think I'd have to go with Garth Brooks. The man can put on a show. Second might be the Lumineers....aw heck they were all pretty good.

Hope everyone has a great day and goes swiftly!

It has been delightfully warm this weekend which allowed me to get the floor of the new breezeway painted. Today we'll get the non-slip strips on the ramp portion and begin the clean-up of the garage where there is lots of sawdust and bits of lumber. I'll save all that for the fire ring in the back yard.

This weekend we're off Utah. Christmas party. Spousal Unit sez I have to be polite and employ my conversation skills. I sez she can only reserve one personality at a time. The event is being held in a castle so we have to dress the part. We will comply but in our own way (READ: Shrek ... pictures next week).

You cats be safe and I'll be over here trying to keep myself from getting stuck to the floor.

Morning all...
Thanks for the start up.

Overcast and 32 here this morning. No plans, a couple small chores to be done. Better half has successfully spread joy all over the house this past weekend. Not a shelf or horizontal surface was left uncovered with festiveness..........

Hope everyone is having a festiveness kinda day..

Morning Keith & All from sunny w/clouds, in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 32F, up from 21F and heading for 36F! Yesterday I think it hit 56F! How does Mother Nature think we are supposed to adjust if she is changing things so fast? :well1:
We have a slight breeze now, later the winds should be out of the N@14 to 23mph.

Happy birthday @Weaselinsuit ! :hat3:

Well, now with the tractor shed somewhat finished, I'll need to clean out the garage/put the tools away. I need to make room for my Christmas gift I bought myself, a DeWalt, 10 piece battery powered tool set. It's sitting in my office right now. ;)

I'll also be putting away the empty 20 boxes of Christmas stuff, so that will take me some time.

Hot cereal with toast and OJ. Pepsi(s) to come later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Good morning, starting to recover from my Vacation in the hospital, intestinal track, finally functioning as it should. Just have to get rid of the Sinus infection. Only plan for today a trip to the drug store and take care of myself .
Weather 40F and cloudy .
Happy Birthday Weaselinsuit's

@Sadlsor If you need to lock the crankshaft on the saw, just stuff some braided rope in the spark plug hole, when the piston come up, the rope in the cylinder stops the travel.

Thanks for that, but it's one of those "maybe / if / and / or / else" deals, where yes, some have successfully done this in exactly the way you describe.

While others who attempted the same technique, in the same manner, have had to replace piston rings or other miscellaneous internal combustion parts... Meanwhile, what may provide an actual tried-and-true is the part I ordered, supposedly out for delivery by the US Postal Service (a reminder -- it's a private organization, not a federal agency) today. YRMV**.

We shall see. At least if a mail carrier (or a femail one, as we usually have) steals the package, there is no check inside they can bleach and cash. And yes, my disdain for our local post office is showing and plainly evident, but my cynical view is well-deserved based on extended personal experience and shared by my actual neighbors.
