What are these switches on 2011 1300 PA?

ECM regulates performance (and maybe emissions), yes?
I could see where government equipment might be exempted from the smog restrictions so as to squeeze out more HP. But that’s just a guess on my part.

Back in 2013 ('08 to '15?), they had different muffler models for cop bikes than non cop bikes. If you look at the part numbers for the 2012 models cop/non cop, honda still shows the different model numbers, but since 2013, they changed the price of the cop mufflers to the same price as the non cop bikes. Go figure! Also, I think I looked at the 2014 models, and they both (non cop/cop) list the same muffler, namely the non cop model! :shrug1:

Seems to me that as long as the wheel and tires are the same radius and profile respectively, the speedometer wouldn’t know any the wiser which ST1300 model it was connected to.
We're talking ST1100 here; at least, I am.

With Honda there could be several variables... Putting a cop speedometer on a non cop bike variables (unknown?):

Checking Partzilla:

PGM-FI UNIT (ECM) (non Cop) 38770-MCS-R12 - (Cop) 38770-MCS-R21 -- different...
SENSOR ASSY., SPEED (non Cop) 37700-MCS-003 - (Cop) 37700-MCS-003 - same

So, besides the Speedometer, the ECM is different, which could cause that 2MPH difference I see above 50mph, that AV8R doesn't see.

There you are...please, be my guest, to verify the results, using a Cop ECM with a Cop Speedometer on a non Cop bike!
All non sequitur as ST1100 speedometers are cable-driven by the front wheel.

A factory horn on an ST1300P would be unnecessary by definition. As is they're next to worthless on any ST unless maybe if you're in the garage and you need kids or dogs to get out of the way. On the street yelling is louder than the meeper.

So Honda wisely leaves it off and takes the cost savings and invests that into making the ode and speedo accurate.
I need a horn for DMV inspection in order to register it (they're going to make me sound it -i'm certain of it).
Using the existing horn button on the left switch assembly would be most ideal.
I opened the left switch assembly. There are wires connected to it....finding the other ends are a different story.
As my Jack Russell says "I'll have to dig deeper".

Understood. I was just mentioning why the buyer of an STP most likely wouldn't find a conventional horn. STPs would generally have an electronic air horn in place of our pitiful factory meeper.

And while the meeper would make DMV happy something with a bit more hair like the FIAMMs would work well if you don't already have a horn or a preference in mind.

To be accurate, I find new posts and threads by clicking on New Posts, so I didn't really notice which forum category this thread started under. However, since we're already here, I found a police speedometer on the 'Bay, and my offer was accepted, so it's about $76.00 including shipping from GB.

There is a big difference between the ST1100 and ST1300 instruments...

A number of years ago I bought a "calibrated" ST1300P Speedometer from the UK. The problem I had with it was that the outside temperature was in "C" and you couldn't change it to "F". At least with the ST1100, you don't have that problem!

Hi Are you able to local the OEM wiring for the horn and how? Do you mind sharing, I have the same problem.
Thank you.
