-3°/11°C, sunny, real blue skies with no haze today...

While pulling up to my slip in the sub-level garage laST night, I found my GF diving deeply under the hood of her Skoda...

What's the issue hon'?
Headlight blown, already fixed...

This morning I noticed the diSTinctive noises of velcro and zippers in the hallway...

Taking the NT? Its slightly below freezing hon'?!
Well, can't test my new grip heaters at 20°C, can I?
she snapped back... ;)

Texted her later how well she'd survived the commute to the office on the NT...

Paws hot, arse cold... was her response...

Lassies like this aren't weird, they're awesome...

enjoy the weekly division...

Morning all, and thanks Martin for the coffee.

The 24hrs of deluge has ceased, and froze some overnight, making the road floodings a nasty icy mess. Currently 0C, dark and clear. We'll see a sunny 11C for the max today, which will be welcomed.

@STinner Dave, I have a new '24 that other than paint (and the factory NAV system that's not in the '25) is identical. They are indeed a very nice bike. Different from the ST in lots of ways, good and different.

Hope everyone has the best day they can.

Obo.

I woke up early, well before my alarms. D**ned brain got to churning about all sorts of worries. So, I got up and did the first thing anyone would do, feed the pets. The Prince of Purrsia was especially grateful, enough to leave me alone immediately after finishing...cats. Now an hour later, I dread getting ready and going in to the office. But at least I'll get to play some lunch time volleyball in the sun. There'll be plenty of office hysterics to balance out the sandy pleasantries

36F/2C down here in SoMD and heading up to the 70s today. If I didn't have to deal with all the road-raging commuters in cages, I'd ride in. But I think I like living more. Better get a move on, so take care y'all!

Thx Martin, some gal you have!

7˚c/45f, sunny, calm, strange….

Picking up Peter on a bit, that’s my day.

Have a good one, and Dave, just go ahead and buy the motorcycle, you’ve earned it!

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's sunny and 28 here in MA this morning. It will stay sunny all day, and the temperature should rise to 62.

I got to the gym, yesterday, and took a ~3 mile walk with the neighbor's Golden Retriever.
I might do that again, today.

Brenda left to our son's place in Dedham, to stay overnight with them.
She's going to babysit our granddaughter, today, while her parents are at work.
I envision all-day naps for Brenda, tomorrow.. :)

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Mornin’ y’all. Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It’s 54 and blowy, with wind advisory in effect. High of 66, with rain coming, late afternoon.

I get to sit and watch, as I get some new steps and sidewalk poured today. It took me 13 years to finally decide to correct the too narrow treads of the steps at the back door. The new sidewalk will get rid of a couple of 2” stepdowns, that I’ve tripped over for far too long. Being careful, just after hip surgery, made me realize just how bad the trip hazards were.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee Martin.

It's sunny and 33°F in Lansdale PA, expecting a warmup to 71 later. Good brick-laying weather.

I hope to get the patio finished today but am dealing with the fact that I set the timber wall an inch too close to the house. I had to put it there to get it tight to the ends of the other sides, but it means pulling up many more bricks, cleaning out the gaps between them, then re-laying them to recover the space needed to fit everything inside the frame.

As a last resort I may have to cut the outer brick in the courses where I can't get them to fit, or chisel away some of the new timber wall to get them to fit. If I go that route I'll probably cut what amounts to a 3/4 x 2" rabbet on the inside of the timber all along its length so that it has an even appearance, rather than a jagged course-by-course look. Wish I had brought my router...

A rabbet might have an unexpected benefit, providing a support for the outer bricks even if the supporting sand settles or erodes, and keeping that outer set of bricks from dropping.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it TODAY, because tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Martin! Your gf is a woman after my own heart; that was me, as well. Our riding season is short and we can't ride at all between Dec. 1 and March 15 (in Québec), so I was well equipped with sturdy, end-of-season riding gear, including heated grips and heated vest...and they got plenty of use! :)

It's a mite on the chilly side this morning at 0°C/32°F, but it's going to be an absolutely glorious day: mix of sun and clouds and a high of 16°C/61°F, and the Spring Equinox is tomorrow! Now, that makes me smile. My two cardinal friends have been visiting on a regular basis, and though I haven't seen any yet, I'm pretty sure the robins must be back. And to my great surprise and delight, as I was sitting in my living room reading yesterday, a peregrine falcon swooped in and perched on one of the trees just beyond my balcony! I reached for my phone and very gingerly tried to get up and creep close enough to get a pic of him, but my movements were a little awkward, given the injured foot and he saw me and flew away. Darn it. At first, I thought "wow, that's unusual," and it is, but less so than one might think; turns out there are peregrines that live and nest at Trudeau International Airport, which is a stone's throw away from me. Very cool!

@jdmccright: OK, my jaw dropped a little when I read your post yesterday! Do you actually speak Irish, or is the expression of condolence you posted yesterday something you found on the internet? I actually grew up speaking it - my mother's family were Irish-speaking and my Nan only spoke to me in it (especially when she was pi**ed at me, when she would refer to me by my Irish name. Lol). Well done, you wrote it perfectly, except for a missing "h," which makes the difference between masculine and feminine.
For the rest of our dear readers, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis means "May her faithful soul be at the right hand of God."

Everyone have a great day, stay safe, go safely, and may the craic be mighty! (Now there's an Irish expression for you!)

Good morning all
Thanks for the hot start Martin.

We pulled the pontoon boat out of the water yesterday, completed necessary repairs, fitted a new cover & delivered same to its covered storage. Today will be making the dock ready for the off season, then getting bikes, etc stored.

57/84F another great day with a SSE breeze!
The end of our winter hiatus is near.
Enjoy your Wednesday!

Morning all!
Pretty day here for a Wednesday, but i gotta run.
We got the Trailmax Missions spooned on last night, and balanced both... but in the way home I had an ABS error. Hmm.
Looked at it again once home, to find i had mounted the front tire backwards! What a ditz!! Well, all the hard work is done, and won't take but a few minutes to turn it around.
Kerry asked me if I'd ever go Dark on the GSA, and I told him no... but maybe subconsciously I was remembering mounting my back tire on the front of the ST? Dumb mistake, but not fatal. I'll fix that before I ride it again.
See ya!

Admittedly I found it online, and yes I figured it wouldn't be written for feminine. Thank you! Having some Irish heritage, Gaelic has interested me for a long time but it is one of the hardest to learn. One of my favorite sayings is "may you be in heaven a half-hour before the devil knows you're dead." I didn't think that appropriate so found this one instead.

Good morning, 40 F windy and cloudy here, wet stuff Forecasted about 3 pm., woke up a bit before 5 , opened Gate and had breakfast. Need another coffee to get me motivated to do something today. Nurse for Surgeon tells me that I need to get blood work done and a ECG before I get Stomach fixed, better book a appointment. Thanks Martin for coffee and Dave for the comics. I guess time to get out and do something, G

Morning all! It's a grey day out there with rain on the way apparently. It's 7C right now with a high of 9C on the way. It was a relatively pleasant ride in today even with the grey and for some reason I managed to catch the majority of lights in my favour which was nice. You have to find Joy where you can.....you know, cause she moves around a lot.....

Working the morning in the office and then from home for the afternoon. My wife is still a bit uncertain re being left alone for the entire day which is fair. It's tough to wrangle two dogs from a walker, though she manages pretty well. She went to bed early last night so I caught up on watching the Expanse, now on season 5. I started based on recommendations by Obo and Martin and it's pretty good and relatively faithful to the books, so far.....

An dòchas gum bi latha math aig a h-uile duine! (Scottish Gaelic, thanks to Google)
