The Dark Italian Roast is ready, Vanilla Brioche too, help ya'selves.
Bright start and it should stay that way. 38 to 53.
The Taurids were busy last night as were the Tawny Owls, if they wake me up once more we'll have words. Pffffffftttttt.
The decision has been made to park The B up now the salt grit has appeared, so it may get the stabiliser in today. At least it's done some miles this year, pitiful I know, but at least it got out.
I also bought some SW Motech adjustable footpegs for er, they were used on ebay at a daft price, I don't know if they'll fit my model but I can resell for more anyway if they don't fit. I'm hoping they will allow my foot to go down and forward slightly. These old knees need a bit more room. I also need some new bike trousers for next year, Dear Santa........
With the work already done, seat, lowering peg plates, mirror extenders etc, it's already much better the Pan ever was, but I think improvements can be made. I'm thinking a tool tube too but haven't got a clue where I'd mount it. More head scratchin required.
Now what to do with today, some'ats. Meh.
Av a gud un and remember, dunkelflaute is a thing. Who knew?
Upt.

Thx again Ray, coffee and education in one blissful sip!

Just returned from an early appointment with my spanish hairdresser.
She’s always upset and angry, but she does a fine job.
I think.
Just as I got up from the chair, I got a seizure ( they always lurk around). I don’t faint, but some people get scared.
«Five minutes earlier, and your ear had been history, thats $30 thank you».
Cool lady.

Rain just stopped. Sun is coming, wind is back, just a little 25mph from north west. 10˚c/50f, no anticyclonic gloom here.

Think I’ll go for a walk.

Have a good one, and watch your ears!
Stu

Always wondered what those black leather purses on the forks of HD cruisers are for... now I know: that's a tool-tube... you learn every day...

G'Day...

dull, gray, high fog, 1°C, won't raise much over 2°C during the day, WX announces drizzle/light rain for the afternoon and the snow limit dropping to 400meters (1300ft in medieval)...
so chances are good this is what I'll see on my way home tonight:

Owned to the weather/conditions ze GF is really unwilling to start/get out of bed in the morning...
Seems I'll have to change her to a new breakfast regime:

Anyway, office, typing, already gulped down my (second) coffee, about to have lunch...

have a good day, with no iced windows...

cheers!

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Ray. 45F on the dog walk with a big bright moon that washed most of the stars out its so bright. it will be a full moon in 2 days. there was enough light from it that I didn't need my flashlight. good got to save on the batteries. Oh and the clouds took the morning off.
have gym this morning and since I'm up town I might as well stop at Sam's Club for a few things. that will eat up the day. we should see 77F as a high today. might get some clean up in the garage. I need to take about 4 gal's of oil to recycle and some batteries too. will see what the day brings. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the Italian roast and brioche Ray.

It's 32°F (in metric that's freezing) ((come to think of it, that's freezing on old units as well)) and clear (allegedly) in Rockville at 0600 hours. We expect sunny skies and the addition of 19 Fahrenheits, for a total of 51 at the maximum.

It's scotch seminar night, which is the fancy name two neighborhood friends and I have applied to our more-or-less once-a-month single malt-inspired get-togethers. It's my turn to host, so I'll get out the leaf blower and give the back patio area a thorough once-over after things warm up. I'll also test the gas heater to see if I can get it lit. I tried the built-in electronic starter other day without success, although I could smell the gas, so today it'll be a long-stemmed lighter on duty. If that doesn't do the trick I'll pull the gas bottle then the thing will get the heave-ho and be hauled to the county recycling station to be added to the scrap metal collection.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Try not to blow yourself up with malfunctioning outdoor appliances.

Good morning all!
Thanks for the roasted Italian STart, Raymondo!
Tool tube? Hmmm, I guess those HD's manage to get a quart of oil in there too, eh?
I'll put a word in to Santa for you this year...

My ankle is truly cramping my style - slowly (read as s---l---o--w----) getting better though.
I may go over to my friends house and watch him replace the head on his Beta trials bike.
Then again, it depends how much I have to walk. eeeeesh!

42 Heits this morning on the farm.
I see dawn dawning. The tree canopy is quite a bit smaller.
Yep, it's that time o' year - great riding weather and good for outdoor activities.
All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey....

@ibike2havefun Keith, check that the regulator is screwed all the way in to the tank before you heave it.
When we were at Saturday's wedding, I couldn't get a heater to light, only to find that the regulator worked loose.
One must be comfortable imbibing a lovely Scotch!

Y'all have a wonderfill day!

Morning all and thanks for the coffee Ray.

It's below freezing here too, which is why I was chauffeured to work. After yesterday's ride home in 3C and rain, and the sub freezing temps overnight, the black ice abounds. I'm also working late tonight so the Mrs. will pick me up around 7pm. Yup, this year's bike season is very limited now. Sigh!

We'll see a high of +2C with a windchill below freezing, but it will be sunny.

Lots on the docket today, so no dilly dallying. Have a super day everyone!

Obo.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee and brioche, Ray!

Whelp, no dunkelflauten here; we'll have plenty of sunshine today, but it's still breezy and it won't be very warm. The temperature is currently sitting at -2°C/28°F but feels like -7°C/19°F, and though it may give it the old college try, it won't get past 3°C/37°F with a feels-like of 0°C/32°F.
Apparently, the first winter storm of the season is approaching, but they're calling it a "boomerang storm," as it's coming from the east, off the Atlantic, rather than from the west. It's supposed to be bringing a whack of snow to southern Quebec, but the temps will warm up through the weekend, so it won't last long. According to the forecast, it's pretty much going to miss Montreal all together.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely. And remember, if you're suffering from anticyclonic gloom, there's medication for that.

Thanks Nick, I'll have a look there before chucking it in altogether. It's been several years since we last used the thing so it's possible the hose has come loose.

Good morning, all. Thanks, Ray.

Currently clear and 52. Rain starts around noon and continues until tomorrow morning, with around 2” expected. Since I’m not going to wash the truck, it looks like a good day to not do it. Probably a good day for household chores…or not.

John

Morning, all you spry and lively gentlemen. Not you, Nick, till the ankle is fixed.

But our A/C tech came last week, his first day back at work after twisting his ankle. It was painful just watching him climb the ladder to the attic unit, and carefully walk across the joists to get to the electronics. But he made it.

Cloudy with rain moving in, high of 69, which is not high at all. It's not that warn now.

I really just stopped by to steal some ☕️ coffee, and ... wait. You're giving it away? Darn. Ok then.

But now I have to go find out what a dunkelflaute is. There's a donut franchise with a similar name, but Krispy Kreme is always better... but the coffee at both of them is remarkably sub-par.

I'm such a (coffee) elitist.

But you knew that already.

Nick, be sure to liberally apply some tasty brown water to relax that ankle, it will speed the healing. For internal use only, of course.

Good day, all.

It must be November.
What oil do youse run in yar generators.
Mine states 0.6 litres of 15W-40 4T.
Any good or bad stories, is it worth sourcing generator oil, if you can of course or just a good quality like Shell etc. Mineral, Semi or Fully synthetic? The generator usually sits for a long time.
Appreciate your views.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee and brioche, Ray.

It's sunny and 33 this morning, rising to 45 for today's high.

Yesterday, I got out for a walk, but missed out on the gym time.
Today...
I got a call from my friend, last night, asking for some help at the restaurant.
One of his cooks set the side of the restaurant on fire, with his smoking materials.
The FD arrived, but it was out. The cooks had torn into the wall to get to the fire.
He wanted me to help board up the inside and outside, where they tore it open.
A couple of sheets of plywood did the trick.

This morning, ironically, I opened the restaurant for the fire alarm inspection...
Once I get breakfast, I'll head out to the gym, and maybe a walk with the neighbor's dog.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning all
Thanks for yet another hot start Raymond.

We had a grand day of it yesterday, left here, drove to Woodstock (in absolutely stunning weather) picked up Miss Judy’s two sisters, a brother and sister in law, drove them to Paris (Ontario) where we enjoyed a wonderful meal (complete with gifts) for the nephew, who met us there.
Then we traced our steps back home. It only took us 12 hours to complete, everyone (including the chauffeur) was very happy with how the event turned out.
Take that chauffeur, he’s not that bright, but he managed to get there and back never lost anyone, no tickets no breakdowns, perhaps he’s not as daft as it seems……
Oh, 32/46F with an ESE breeze @10-12MPH.
There I managed to remember that much!
WB

Morning Ray & All from sunny, (yes, COLD) Southern Utah!

Currently it is 31F, up from 19F and heading for 57F. No breeze yet, but later the winds will be out of the S @ 9 to 12mph.

Well, it looks like those on the mend are mending... :hat3:

I pretty much took the day off yesterday. About the only thing I did do was to drive Chris over to the Egg Lady's home to pick up 3 dozen eggs. Chris does okay with these eggs. Store bought, she doesn't do good with at all.

Today, Chris is already up and had to run to a Physical Torment session. It's to help with her legs going numb on her when she is standing. After she gets back, we'll make a Costco run.

Eggs, toast & and a Pepsi to wash it down. We're out of OJ & Bacon bits. :well1:

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

I don't know what bacon bits are, or why you would eat a bit when you can eat a lot.
But.....she needs to get er act together. Bacon is real important, not just a bit important.
Pffffffftttttt.
Ray, that is those tasty little nuggets in the Ceaser salad.
At least, that’s my favourite place for them!
“And know you know”!

Morning all! The weather is decidedly undecided. It was rainy on the ride in but it seems to be clearing. Somewhat. There's still some nasty dark bits off to the West with occasional patches of blue sky and sun. That will apparently be the theme for the day. It will clear up for midday but then turn grey and rainy in time for the ride home. Figures. Currently10C with a massive jump up to 11C for the high.

Had a meeting with the contractors yesterday about draw pulls and door handles. Everyone agreed upon a choice quickly so reno drama was avoided. They have all the cabinetry installed in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms along with the front entrance. It looks amazing, like something out of a magazine. I'm reasonably confident in my ability to normalize it with assorted messes, paper piles and other paraphernalia. (TIL there's an r in paraphernalia...have always pronounced it without one)

In other good news, I made it off the waitlist with the masters swim group which means I can start working off this listing waist of mine. Course, dropping poundage is more about intake than output but baby steps.

This uh tool tube....can you get them for the human variety? It would be nice to keep them contained as well.

Hope everyone has a great day and keeps in step!
