Good morning everyone

Ray's guests have him sleeping in, apparently, so I've got a pot of French roast ready for you to enjoy. Please do.

It's a cloudy, humid, vaguely foggy 50°F in Rockville, expected to clear off and rise to about 62 by this afternoon. That should make good conditions for the day's primary activity on the Calendar o' Fun, a round of goof. Before than, uke practice of course.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Keith. 44F on the dog walk this morning with a clear sky, a bright full moon and some stars to walk under. got some running around to do this morning and a doctors appointment this afternoon. weather should be nice as the high should see 75F and clear. enjoy the day

stay safe

G'Day...

yeah, Ray might have a "big head" today... :sneaky:

thanks for the sludge, much needed...

11°C, mostly cloudy, still some wind, dry... no "white Christmas" in sight, temps will stay in the upper single digits till the end of next week...

Weird, moody skies this morning: west still pitch black, dark clouds above, east "fiery glow" by the raising sun... kinda end of the world scenario...

Office kinda quiet, but since my colleague has been let go, likely the calm before the storm...
They have yet not communicated how they intend to distribute his previous tasks and workload...
Chances are they don't even know/care what he was actually doing... and simply drop all into my lap...
Great procedure to fire someone at the age of 60 two weeks before Xmas... nice touch...
I however looted his office chair... much better lumbar support...

On the weird local news:
By Jan 01st 2025 only EV's can be registered as taxi-cabs...
Much to the rejection of the single person operators and smaller taxi companies, as the financial efforts simply drives them bankrupt...
And not only are there by far not enough charging stations in place, they'll make zero business during the times required there...
If it smells like lobby-ism, it likely is...

have a nice day, and keep away from shopping centers, folks get insane this time of year...

cheers!

No not sleeping in, ta me ducks. I need coffee.
Martin of Vienna, WTH, "Wiener Schnecken aus dem Hause Gugumuck", slimy things. Although the way they were prepared they looked pretty good on a TV programme last night. But......no.
The weather is average, no more and no less. Pffffffftttttt.
I've been to Berwick-upon-the-Tweed for stuff and the invading army left yesterday afternoon. All good.
The rest of the day will be steady.
Av a gud un and remember, squash em with your shoe.
Pffffffftttttt.
Upt.

Nothing wrong with snails in garlic sauce... actually a french delicacy... and since all you Brits migrate to France once retired, better get used to their cuisine now... ;)
Hint: as with prawns and shrimp, ensure they'd been on a diet for some time... :poop: you know... :sneaky:

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith! Have fun on the goof course.

Crazy weather. Our short, "warm" spell has peaked and the temperature has climbed as high as it will go. It currently sits at 7°C/45°F with a feels-like of 3°C/37°F, and will drop from here. It's raining this morning, but it should stop soonish. Cloudy conditions for the rest of the day, then snow tomorrow.

I must admit, I quite enjoy well-prepared escargots on occasion, with some nice French bread to soak up all that butter and garlic.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

The hint is well received and acknowledged. I have eaten them before a couple of times.
But never in France, strangely.
The first time was actually in Vermont.
And Patty is right bread is required straight after the slippery things are on their way down.
And, no plans to retire to onion seller land, it's full of French.
I wonder how many other countries I'll insult today, it'll be a few for sure.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the French coffee, even if it was brewed in Maryland.

50/62 and still raining. Could some of you kind folks in Kansas and Nebraska please turn off some of those giant fans that are scattered across the hillsides? We’ve had enough blustery for the month.

John

mmm... French Roast!
Thanks, Keith!
I have a bagel waiting, all I've got to do is toast it and add a bit of butter.

It's cloudy and 51 here in MA this morning, but it will become PARTLY cloudy and rise to 53.
It was a dreary day all of yesterday, with fog, mist and rain at various times.
Today should be a bit better.

I made it to the gym, but not much else, yesterday.

I haven't got much planned for today, either.
The "needs maintenance" light on the Tacoma is always on, so I'll seek out an oil change.
The TV folks say that it's too late to ship Christmas presents, so I guess that one.more.thing isn't happening.
I do need to get to one of the local malls for a gift card for Brenda. I asked what she'd like for Christmas, and she answered " A new kitchen and bathroom.", so that'll be waiting when we arrive back from Oregon.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning, still dark, phone says 39F Cloudy ,most take garbage to the street before it gets wet. Wife survived other eye cataract surgery, watched two Christmas shows last night. Enjoyed a Jack Black one called Dear Santa, kid has Dyslexia and mispelles Santa so letter goes some where else. Don't want to spoil it for Y'all . Need few things from food store, only other chore that needs doing. Coffee time ,see Y'all later G

Mornin', sinus healing continues, looks like molar pain is the order for today. I stepped outside and can tell the cooler air ramps up the pain on intake. One of the items removed is a turbinate, which helps warm incoming air and creates some swirl (as I understand it), so that makes sense. Hopefully that removal gives me some Ram-air benefits at speed!

Morning all! Dark and dreary here with rain on the way or already here in parts of the city. 7C right now and we'll top out at 9C. Much better than Calgary at -16C/-24C with the windchill.

My mother in law left for home at the same time as I left for work so I was able to say goodbye and help her with her luggage. She's one of the good ones. For some reason, I have lucked in with in-laws, they're all great. I must have been kind to at least one person in a previous life to warrant that.

Work has picked up but that's good, helps the day pass quicker and it's all pretty interesting stuff. Including some drafting, which I have a bit of a love hate relationship with; hate the blank page, love the creativity once I get started. Which of course starts "On a long and lonesome highway...." in my head....

Hope everyone has a great day and isn't stuck east of Omaha!

Morning Keith & All from Southern Utah!

Currently, besides it being COLD, we have some cloud cover with the temp at 34F, up from 23F and heading for 51F. Not much of a breeze right now, but later, we'll see the winds from the N @ 9 to 12mph.

I've been fighting my left knee since last week. I've had this problem before and by putting a brace on it for a few days it straightens up. But now my right foot is bugging me, so I'm doing great! :old1:

Chris and I bagged the neighbors "gifts", so I'll drop them by today, or tomorrow.

I also got my insurance bill on the house and cars. Up over $760 a year! :censored: I think I'll check around and see if I can find something more reasonable! :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) to come later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all.......
Thanks for the go go juice. Kinda dull and dreary here this morning, need it.

Snowed a bit yesterday, now it is melting and our temps go above freezing for the next week.
Looks like a brown Christmas here this year. At least the ski hill is staying white.

Hey @SupraSabre , our home owners insurance went up over 50 percent as well. Car insurance too. Safco, been with them 8 years, so time to shop around. Here in WA the state they let all the insurance companies raise their rates substantially . We found that STate Farm choose not to raise their rates and we found better coverage at a lower than last year price. Might try them out.

OK, the rest of you hooligans go have a satisfying Satuesday.......... And keep your garlic snails to yourselves.

Yeah, I checked with GEICO, but their Home Ins rates were higher than Farm Bureau. I did one of those "we'll check a bunch of Ins Cos" And right now Progressive is coming in $1500 lower for auto, and $100 lower for house. I didn't like them when I had my motorcycle accident back in 2008, so I fired them, but if I can save that kind of money, I just might go with them!

And BTW, USAA wouldn't even insure my house because they claim I'm in a fire area! BS! I didn't like USAA's adjuster with my last accident in 2019. Their client hit me and it took 3 years to get them to pay for it! :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:
