How about waterproofness? I'm tired of donning Frogg Toggs when out on the road. Want gear I dont have to worry about getting wet in, without spending Aerostitch or Klim money.

Oxford Mondial laminate is a good alternative as long as you like the cut etc. £200.00 for the jacket.
I would describe it as three season rather than 4.

So Obo, youve had the kit for over a year now. Whats the verdict?

Im in the market for a pair of rain proof jacket and pants to replace my many years old Tourmaster Advanced set.

Should the Mariner set be considered?.

Only been using the jacket as the pants are still too snug and I've not found a seamstress willing to tackle them (sorry sir, they are safety gear...)

Jacket has been working well in all weather. The inside pocket for the cell phone has started to tear a bit (the inner fabric is mesh) and there's the tiniest bit of fraying on one of the pulls for one pocket Velcro. No noticeable fading, haven't washed the jacket yet, Velcro and zippers are still fine. The only thing i noticed was this Summer when taking out some naked bikes on demo days. The shoulder vents when open (they fold back) turn the jacket into a large sail when at highway speeds. Never noticed this on the ST or the Wing. Obviously a bike's wind protection helps immensely. As long as you had the zip vents open below them, and not the flaps, you'd be good on a naked bike. That said, those open flaps obviously move some air.

It might be a bit hot for the lower Southern climates in the Summer. I've only used it from -6C (21F) to 48C (118) so far. At -6C I needed something under the jacket with liner and at the 48C it was almost unzipped and I was dripping.

I'd buy it again for the climate I ride in on an ST or a Wing.

If you don't find anyone to do it you can try contacting this place. They used* to do all kinds of repairs/alterations on motorcycle clothing. They had even purchased the machine required to reseal Gortex to allow them to repair and alter water-proof clothing.

I write used to because they have changed company names. They are still in the same location as when they had the old name and when I went there but I have no idea if the name change means that it is different owners or whether or not they still do these types of repairs. They are in Montreal but if you can't find anywhere local contacting them and asking cost nothing.

The only leaking I’ve gotten is a little bit in the crotch of the pants. The jacket has stayed water tight. I wear a fleece neck gator with it to prevent water running down my back.
