Ay up , the dark Italian Roast is ready, help ya'selves.
It's cold and icy out, around 30 to 37, should stay dry.
Er'Indoors is away to Jumpy Up and Down Class at Berwick-upon-the-Tweed and I've got a tube of clear silicone and matt dark oak quick drying stain for company. Pffffffftttttt.
The cold weather jobs have certainly started and I'm doing my best to be enthusiastically involved but it's not easy. I promise to do my best, I can do no more.
Upon er triumphant return we'll imbibe the elixir of coffee some more and then it'll be more some'ats, there's always some'ats.
Av a gud un my Café buddies and remember, matt isn't always matt.
Upt.

Thx Ray!

2˚c/36f, sunny, 15mph wind from the wrong direction.

Rigging sound system in the church in a bit, where’s me groupies??

Cooking, picking up Peter, then a performance tonight, then downrigging.
I need a nap.

Have a good one, and remember you can always trust Matt (Dillon) if you can find him.

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Ray. and yes the snowbirds are here with their motorcycles. 52F on the dog walk with a clear sky and plenty of stars to go around. I have some running around to do this morning to pick up a few things. like dog food, electric hot air gun (paint stripping type) and what ever else I might need. the high today should see 77F
enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the hot cup of goodness, Ray.

It’s 23 out, but Teddy says it feels like17. High of 27 today, after last evening’s dusting of snow.

Last evening, around 9:45 PM, I discovered that it was only 6:30. I’m thinking “what could it hurt” and went to bed anyway. After a sound night’s sleep, I awoke feeling refreshed, only to discover that it was only 10:30 PM. I decided to read for a bit and managed about 2 pages before falling asleep again, which lasted until 5:00 AM. These short days/long nights are killing me.

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee Ray. Tastes a bit sill-a-connie though. I blame Matt.

-6C here and cloudy, with a high expected of only -2C.

Potluck day here at work, as today is the annual decorate the Christmas tree event. I brought leek and potato soup. I cheaped out this year due to time and the price of leeks. Bought the packaged dry soup and used instant potatoes. It was easier than washing the leeks (it's hard to get all the dirt out of them.) chopping them, sauteing them, peeling and cooking the taters, pureeing the taters with the broth, adding the leeks and simmering for hours. An hour and a half stirring over heat, 4 dry packs of ingredients, and a dozen cups of water and milk and I was done. Hopefully it's a hit. If not, hey it's potluck!

Hope you all have a great day, and if you don't, well that's potluck too aint it?

Enjoy!

How do you decorate a Christmas tree with leek and potatoes?
It's a good job you've got Matt and Connie to give you a chuck.
Enquiring minds want to know.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Ray!

I'm feeling a little bleary-eyed this morning, as my night was interrupted as well, both rudely and rather frighteningly...the central fire alarm went off just before midnight. I sprang out of bed, pulled on the nearest clothing I could find (thank goodness that included a heavy sweater), grabbed my phone, coat, boots and ID and made my way outside to the "gathering point," where I stood and froze with the rest of the residents until the firefighters arrived. We were allowed back in after about 20 minutes. Turns out some charming individual had been smoking in one of the stairwells. When we went back in, I caught the distinct aroma of weed, so I presume it was a joint (or two) that was being smoked. Whoever it was is lucky they didn't cross paths with me. It took a hot shower and some time with a book to finally get me back to sleep, but sleep was fitful for the rest of the night. We survived.

So the snow we got on Sunday pretty much melted, but we got more overnight, so everything's all white again. Today, we'll see mostly cloudy skies with a snippet or two of sunshine, and temps ranging from the current -4°C/25°F with a feels-like of -7°C/19°F to -2°C/28°F with a windchill of -5°C/23°F. These relatively mild (for December in Quebec) temps will soon be a memory; our warmest autumn on record and snowless Oct-Nov are about to come to a screeching halt. Tomorrow, we get to greet a storm system coming in from out West, known as an "Alberta Clipper." It will dump a goodly amount of snow on us through Wednesday and most of Thursday, and will be followed by bone-chilling, freeze-your-nose-hairs cold. Welcome to Canadian winter, eh?

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the Italian dark roast, Ray.

It's a chilly 26°F in Rockville. It's also clear, with a slight breeze that make the temperature feel like 18 degrees. The expected high is 39, with sun all day. Around 1400 hours the breeze will freshen, causing up to a 15 degree difference between the actual and feels-like temperatures. Brrrrrr. Bundle up if going outside, but better yet just stay indoors if possible.

BTDT. Last night it got to be 7:30 which was plenty late for me. I didn't have that 10:30 wake-up but did have the usual 0300 interlude/ It lasted just long enough to provide a window for me to finish the difficult crossword puzzle I'd been chewing on for the past few days, then I was easily able to fall back asleep until 0645 this morning- unusually late for me, as I'm generally spontaneously awake and up between 4:45 and 5:30.

Maybe I'll go to Laos today, or at least to their official presence (Embassy) in DC, to apply for the visa necessary to enter the country next month as a tourist. And of course, uke practice in there somewhere.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good morning all!
Great start Ray!
We Stopped for breakfast at a Cracker Barrel somewhere just north of the Dayton turnoff on I75. 25F & dry!

Dayton Ohio, Dayton Ohio.....:think1:.
It's famous for some'at.
Ahhhhhh,

With their up-tiddly-up-up. And their down-tiddly-down-down. Up, down, flying around. Looping the loop and defying the ground. They're all frightfully keen.

I knew it was famous for some'at.

Where there's a will, there's a beneficiary.

And generally at least one attorney. More if it's a contested will (subtly different from, but closely related to, a "contest of wills"...).

I sprang out of bed,

My brain immediately went all seasonal on me, so with apologies to @Peppermint and without apologies to Clement Moore:

... to see what was the matter.
I opened the curtains
And threw up the sash...

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Ray.

It was 18 when I got to the house this morning, and mostly cloudy.
The clouds will let some sun shine through, later, and the temperature should rise to 38.

I got here around 7:20, and just beat the contractor to the driveway. He was followed by the truck containing our new cabinets and flooring.

I didn't get to the gym, yesterday, but did take the neighbor's dog out for a short walk in the "Outback"
We went to dinner at one of the local pub/restaurants where they had their version of a Big Mac on special. They did it much better than McD's, and their hand-cut fries went well with it.

I'm off to polish off the last of our Thanksgiving leftovers, before heading out to the gym.
The pup might get another walk, as well.
And since today is the first Tuesday of the month, I'll meet with former coworkers for a gab-fest and drinking dinner.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Best not to practice the uke in the embassy...

True. It would almost certainly be characterized as an unprovoked assault on the good people of Laos, and trigger an international incident with potential for escalation to the nuclear level. Nobody wants that.
