I was looking for a digital tachometer that was accurate enough to do the idle drop procedure on the ST1100 and bought a Tiny-Tach. I had planned on only using it for the procedure, but decided to leave it on the ST after I was finished. It is made in the USA, has 1 RPM granularity, updates every 1/2 second and also is an hour meter. The model I have is the TT2A. I have no affiliation with the company. It is waterproof and has a 5-year lithium battery.

Pictures attached.

How do the Tinytach readings compare with the main analogue readings thanks?

Where did you pickup your signal for the Tiny Tach?

edit: Duh, when all else fails, read the instructions. I did, on their website - you wrapped the wire lead around the spark plug wire and it is triggered by induction.

Right, if you look at the very bottom of the photo I posted, you can see one loop of the red wire going around the spark plug wire. The rest of the red wire is looped back on the coax.
