It's the only Caff to go to. Be there or be square. Come on you hipsters the Dark Italian Roast is ready.
Clear blue start, the sun is just up and it's 41 to 51. No wind to speak of.
We will shortly be off to Alnwick upon the Aln for cupboard filling duties and Er'Indoors will be getting a post op eye test. It will involve food at some stage. I do like food.....and drink.....and food....and......
There will be no Autumnal Garden clear up today, which is a good thing, I think.
Someone remind me to put the generator on charge. Pffffffftttttt. But what oil? It's a quandary. Someone recommended Castrol POWER1 4T 10W-40 4 Stroke Motorcycle Engine Oil?
Av a gud un and remember, never do something today which you can put off until tomorrow. But never buying food.
Upt.

Yes it is Thursday - it is....
Oh man! Git ready for some caffeine youse caffeiners!
In the pot today is a bold delight served daily at Leon's tire shop - "Don't Tread on Me".
Yeah - he's ex-military and proud of it.
Cups are on the table - I think I see some fresh donuts too.

Yesterday, I couldn't stand it ("stand" get it?) any longer and decided to go outside and do something.
This ankle-thing was getting me down.
After painting the roof of our outdoor swing - the ankle actually felt better.
Eh? Yeah it still hurts a bit - but I think the moving around helped.

Today if'n the rain holds off, I might get a second coat - maybe yes - maybe no.
Otherwise I'll be relegated to some indoor stuff I've been putting off.
Kinda the shoemaker's children thing...

Y'all have a winderFALL day!

she actually managed to hug both, her's and mine...
Interesting how heavy such a lifeless body can be...

the usual routine, coffee, commute, office, etc...

I read there's snow falling on the tops over there. Over there being the Alps and Mountains.

Nah...
An omnipresent trend these days, be it politics or the media, is to spread sensation and panic...
instead an uncommitted report like "possible snowfall down to 1300 feet", they have to issue a "fog warning", "frost warning", "snow warning", etc... pfffft...
Soon they'll warn us about possible daylight in the morning and slight chances of black air during evening and night hours... o_O

...bribing the local law enforcement he is...

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the double pot, Ray and Nick. Some A lot of each for me, please. And I'll help clear the table ^^^ that Martin so kindly and thoughtfully set.

It's 38°F and cloudy in Rockville, expecting 47 for a high with water falling out of the sky beginning mid-afternoon. (In the winter time, can 3:00 really be considered "mid-afternoon", since it's just a bit more than an hour before dusk? I hate these months.)

Just as I finished getting the back patio area ready (leaves cleared away, propane heater tested and approved, firewood split, carried down, and stacked next tot he Solo Stove) to entertain my guests at yesterday's scotch seminar, my phone rang. It was one of the crew informing me that due to the chilly air and a recent minor surgery we'd be meeting at his place instead. I might not host again until the spring, because the substitute host has a large, friendly, but not overly disciplined Labrador retriever to which he is devoted. Mulan the cat would NOT approve of the dog's presence inside the house, and chaos would almost certainly ensue.

Nothing planned for today.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

good morning all. thank you Ray and Nick for the double shot of coffee this morning. 50F on the dog walk. Just a carbon copy of yesterdays weather. bright moon, washed out stars and the clouds are still missing. might need a search party if they don't show up soon. the high should see 84F
nothing on the list today but then the wife is not up yet. enjoy the day

stay safe

What? No coffee, Ken?

The posting and chit chat is merely a byproduct, an accoutrement (I'll let @Peppermint Patty pronounce that for us) if you will, of the caffeination ritual.

Thanks for the contributions to the Coffee Cause, Ray and Nick. I'll add Black Rifle too. But you're the first person I know of, who's ever called me a hipster. But you'll never see me in a pair of skinny jeans, I guarantee it.

I suppose Keith and I are the only ones who resent this depressing and dismal darkness, because the rest of y'all just continue to let it happen year after year. It's sprinkling, because I can feel it when I go outside, but I can't see it because it's too fricking DARK outside. So it's probably cloudy, too, but I can't tell because it's too fricking DARK outside.

Just checked the web weather, and it will be raining all day, off and on. 62 now, which by the way is where Roz likes to keep the air conditioning, and we won't see 70. Winter is here, I TOLD you it's coming. And as an aside, that's probably why we needed a new thermostat upstairs. She wonders why she has to always reset it, and that's because when she's not looking I put it on 74.

Some office buildings have a lockable plexiglass cover over their thermostats, but I doubt that would fly at my house.

If i had more to say, I've forgotten it after my rant and ramble, but I do know one thing for sure.

I like motorcycles .

Morning all, and thanks for the coffees Ray & Nick. A warm welcome to @Kennyray too!

-4C, headed to +3C. Chauffeured again today due to ice. Tomorrow I'll hopefully be on my own again, as we're supposed to go get my new car this evening after work. I even had to move the Wing to the back garage last night. First time it's ever been there. It may have been scared, but I nestled it up beside STella so they could keep each other company.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Obo.

Thx Ray and Nick!
If I lived in the US I’m shure my weight would exceed 500 pounds.

9˚c/48f, calm, sunny, somethings off….

Been for a very long walk.
Went off the trail, looking for possible emergency shelters, like in contingency planning…
Found a cave thing and a old hideaway shelter (who built the shelter and why? I could’t get close because of a marsh.
Will have to check it out next week.)
Excited!

Have a good one!

Good morning, all, and thanks for the double dose, Ray and Nick!

After a tossy-turny, nightmary, mostly sleepless night, I was treated to a beautiful, lavender sunrise this morning. Once again, there's plenty of sunshine on tap for today, but very little warmth. It's currently -3°C/27°F with a feels-like of -8°C/18°F, and the "mercury" will stop at the high of 5°C/41°F with a windchill of 2°C/36°F. Yep, winter's coming, all right, but it isn't here yet...soon, everything will be covered in snow and the temps will be well below freezing. And yes, the fact that the sun currently sets just a few minutes after I finish work is a bit of a drag, which is why we look forward to the Winter Solstice every year, although we only start noticing the increase in daylight in February. Ah, well, it's all part of the cycle of the seasons and life in the Great White North, eh?

@Kennyray: Welcome aboard, Ken!
@Flexit: A very Happy Birthday to you, sir!

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good morning, everyone. Thanks, Ray.

It’s a toasty 75 degrees, but that will change quickly as I crawl from under the electric blanket. Outside, it’s 55 and cloudy, with last night’s rain ending after dropping 1 1/2”.

I’ll be attending my friend’s funeral today, and I’ll be chauffeuring 2 other friends for the hour long trip. Both of these friends have short term memory loss, so it will be a very interesting and entertaining ride. Both of them called me TWICE each, yesterday to ask if I was picking them up. It’ll be a fun trip, listening to them remember the past 50 years, but not remember if we ate lunch.

John

Good morning, and thanks for the double pot, Ray and Nick.
mmm...donuts... nom, nom, nom.

It's 32 and sunny in MA this morning, rising to 47, later.
It's still dry here, and we received a robo-call, yesterday, telling us to conserve water, due to the drought.
And we still have wildfires, here and there.

Yesterday, I only made it to the gym, but didn't walk.
The weight of our cat kept me glued to the recliner.
I got a call from UMass, regarding my coming cataract surgery, so there's that.

Brenda has a new person to train (#3), and she's hopeful that this one will stick around.
She stayed a bit late, yesterday, to finish what they were doing, and we found ourselves at a local pub-style restaurant.

Today's plan is for another gym event, maybe a walk in the Outback, and I'll see about painting over that stain in the living room ceiling.

@Kennyray, welcome to the club!

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning all!
Thanks for the double start men!

@Kennyray, welcome to the site! You’ll find some things that make you groan, and fortunately, things that make you chuckle here on a regular basis!

@STooRay, you had best be careful checking out that cave, it certainly looks to me that it would make a good bears den.

I’ve been left on my own again, what will I do?
If I were a lot closer, I’d drop in on some of you lot, perhaps have a pint or 3!
I suppose I should get going though, I do have a few things that I’ve been instructed to do, or procrastinate!

43/47F overcast with rain later, an ENE breeze 13-28 MPH
Enjoy your day!
