Thursday brew-up, 19 December

IMG_0229.jpegGood morning all!
Thanks for the hot start Keith!
You’re a chatty lot this AM!

Last years golf cart was indeed written off & the replacement is being retrieved this morning. Found a 4 year newer cart, in better shape with hardly any use.
The best part, it was cheaper than the last unit!

65/81F today, apparently foggy in areas the breeze is N6-13MPH.
Enjoy your day!

I had no idea! But they sure do seem popular around here.
Wonder if they partnered with Yamaha or with Triumph for that 3-banger? Some of their triples are pretty punchy.
Lots of Fords use 3 cylinder petrol lumps in Europe. I think between 1 and 1.5 litres.
They got a bad reputation because their cambelts run in the oil and they fail horribly. They were mostly fitted in Fiesta/Focus sized cars and vans. The cambelts may have been changed now for dry running.

G'Day...

awe... coffee... :coffee:
already on my 3rd mug today... o_O

morning 2°C and fog, vis about 800m/~1/2 a mile... British... humid... ghastly... won't see over 7°C today, gray overcast... yeah, "fake news" of course... pfffff...

Just "brilliant" the >40% drivers who thought it a smart idea to have their rear fog lamps on... that such is only to be used in vis below 50m/160ft is totally out-worldly...

Great also those, obvious inexpensive hence poorly designed LED headlights, their "low" doesn't aim down as technically more complex designed bi-lux, H4 or projector lens types, nah, like the old sealed-beam design the LED's glare aims always straight across the full opening... oncoming they create a white curtain in the fog, like a white bed-sheet you've to dive through, blindly...
Car makers must save billions by omitting the illuminant shielding or any measures for a proper downward aim of the "low" beam... but of course, "fake news"... pfffff...

Care to elaborate that nick you like to address your partner with there?
I call my GF "Schlunz" which is a local tongue abrasive/substitute for doze/ing (like a cat they can sleep up to 20hrs/day... in any place, in any position, ignoring their ambience entirely...)

Anyway, thankfully its Friday tomorrow, last working day till Jan 7th...

cheers!
From Oxford Reference
"Her indoors noun. Also 'er indoors".
Brit-One's wife (or girlfriend); hence in extended use applied to any domineering woman.

It's probably more Southern than Northern England. From the Midlands Up it would probably become "The Mrs".
Er'Indoors sounds nicer me thinks. The Indoors I spose would refer to the fact that the lady of the house would stay at home to do womanly things. You know, shoppin, bakin, cleanin, but before Patty comes over and clips my ear hole I'll shut up.
Of course these things can now be done by non transgender women and anyone identifying as female, or any male that's stupid enough to say such things to Er'Indoors.

Aha... a SWMBO... so to say...

Having lived by myself as well in relations over equal times, is there no distinction between male or female chores...
Or in other words: I don't need a female to survive, I can feed and clean myself very well... (some might reckon the anecdote about the ironing of dress shirts... :sneaky: )
Which OTOH then mostly only confused the fool out of that mysterious other gender... he doesn't dependent on me, he literally doesn't need me... uh-boy...

Ah, females are like bacon:
they smell good
they taste good
on the long run they'll kill you...

in that sense...

PS: if I hear just one more Christmas Song on that radio I'll be sick...

Hang in there, Martin. Should only last another week, and maybe a couple extra days after, for those to whom time means nothing. (Usually that would be me, as regards to Time, but not when it comes to seasonal musicality.)

Commercial radio (my least favorite of all) generally will cease playing such, at least until late November, so we will have a respite of about 11 months. You can do it!

Meanwhile, look for - and listen to - motorcycle podcasts, or maybe Tucker Carlson. Or your own playlists.

In the same spirit that Black Friday sales started at Halloween, the radio stations are already pushing Boxing Day pricing & sales, ahead of Christmas. I figure by New Year's the Easter candy will be out combined with Valentines Day.

Morning all! Still a bit dark here, but that's ok I like the dark. I spend a lot of time in the dark. Or so I am informed. It's 6C with rain that will continue the rest of the day with a high of 8C. Which is still better than the -15C/-21C we left behind in Calgary. Though they do have sun and there is nothing like a bright sunny winter Alberta day. Meh, the bike would have been in the garage for 2 months now if I had stayed....

Working from home today as lots on the domestic front; glass guys arrive to put in shower enclosures and mirrors in the bathrooms, my daughter's boyfriend arrives this morning in advance of her arrival on Tuesday. The explanation is that he wants to help us with moving stuff back in the house, which I do believe is partly legitimate, but the small mean nasty part of me (who's kidding, the large mean nasty part of me) thinks it's cause he can only tolerate my ex for so long.......sigh....I was not going to do that anymore......ah well, not that it was ever in doubt but I am definitely headed to the boiler room downstairs once I shuffle off this mortal coil.....

+1 on the Diplomat Keith, we binged both seasons and absolutely loved it.

I'm also hoping that said boyfriend, once he arrives, can follow me to the local motorcycle mechanic to get the rear brake looked at and probably an oil change while he's at it. He's awesome, doesn't oversell, doesn't price gouge and does a great job. Plus, he's a really nice laidback guy. Total win finding him.

Hope everyone has a great day and mind the elderberries!

It's nice to be home.

It was a nice weekend event. It was easy travel. It is nice to be around people you know. But, there's nothing as relaxing as your own bed and pillows.

Spousal Unit and I have been blanket divorced for a while now and recently we became mattress divorced as she has too many blankets and two full sized body pillows (I call them the Bobs) so it's chaos on her side.

So I made us "The Nest" ...

20240521_164518~2.jpg

Two queen beds nestled in a space that seemed to be made specifically for such a thing. She has her side, and the cats and I have our side. It's dark, draped in blankets so it's quiet and is everything that it appears to be. It's a trap.

You cats be safe and we'll be over here catching up on our sleeps .....

I'm confused.... are you talking the mechanic of the boyfriend?

Im here, I'm up, barely.

Thanks for the morning goodness.
The wind has stopped, sun is out, mid 40s here today.
Last day of work for the wife till next year....yay!!

Afternoon Keith & All from mostly sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently at 12:30pm, it is 53F, heading for 56F (or 61F, depending who's weather guessing you're looking at.) We do have a breeze, coming form the NNE @ 3mph. Later from the NW @ 6 to 7mph.

I had to deliver the neighbor's token gifts yesterday, so I hauled out the 2012 :dr13: and rode it around. After I got done, I rode around the neighborhood for a little bit! :hat3:

Today will be another day of nothing accomplished, since my knee is still bothering me. It is feeling better, but a couple more days off of it, will help it heal.

Eggs, bacon, toast & Eggnog to start the morning. Pepsi(s) to come later!

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
