There are a great many options and, not surprisingly, a great many opinions. You might try searching "aftermarket windshields" or checking the
"windshields" forum for existing information. Members are likely to offer up their $.02 in response to your request as well.
If you're looking to reduce wind noise and cut back pressure, the first thing I'd suggest you do before you spend money on a replacement shield is move the windshield to the higher of the two base settings. If you can't figure it out, it's in your owner's manual. Easy. This will position the shield slightly higher throughout the electrically adjustable range and may accomplish what you're looking for.
I've used a strip of Saeng edging on my stock shield, which raises and widens the stock sheild's wind diffusion. It's not expensive and somewhat effective, although it looks funky (IMO).
More recently I put a Laminar Lip on my stock shield. It was given to me by the owner of the company when one of my
Rider articles included photos of 3 different ST's (two 13's and one 11) outfitted with Lips. It was purely coincidental and certainly not my attention to offer up free advertising, but apparently he noticed a bump in inquiries following the article's publication and wanted to say thanks. He called and asked how I liked my Lip and I had to say truthfully I didn't have one. Well, one arrived my doorstep,
gratis, a couple days later. My initial shake-down ride of about 150 miles of mixed slab and two-lanes last weekend impressed me enough that I'm leaving it on for the run to Moonshine, which will probably be close to 4,000 miles by the time I get home.
I have also used a Clearview GT Small with an adjustable Gold Wing vent, which I picked up gently used from a forum member. The more convex shape of the shield and the ability to vent air through the center of the shield both aid in reducing back pressure, although the higher the shield goes up the more back pressure is created. Unless I'm completely smitten with the Laminar Lip, which remains to be seen, the GT Small will go back on for the warm weather as it lets a blast of air through that hits me mid-chest and keeps me cooler than the stock shield.
