Terry 'ACL' Hammond (11/19/2010)

I am wearing my riding gear at the service, that is how Terry and his family knew me, so at the visitation I will be casual. I said before, it is not what you wear, it is that you came. I am coming as a friend.

Kevin

I kinda feel the same way as Kevin.

I just booked a room for Monday night at the Comfort Inn in Casey. If someone wants to bunk with me just give me a call 319-325-2778 or post something here.
I have two double beds. And we can make room on the floor as well.
If you should get there before me the reservation # is 11435064 under the name of Jim Neagle from Iowa City. Make yourself at home.

Taken :slv13:

I will be wearing my Moonshine ID tag with a black stripe (electrical tape) in Terry's honor. I would like to ask anyone else with one of these ID's to do the same.

Re: Terry 'ACL' Remembered

I only met Terry once, this year at natSToc, but I immediately realized that he was an amazing human being. I also immediately realized that I had a LOT to learn from him about making friends. Too bad I only had one lesson. Regardless, I just read someone else's statement that everyone was family to Terry. I guess that was lesson number two. Thanks Terry, that was the part that I didn't fully get in lesson one.

I heard about Terry from my brother Dan on the way to go deer hunting this weekend. At first it really took the wind out of my sails, but then I realized that now we're all going to have the opportunity to ride with Terry every time we throw a leg over a bike. That's going to make me look forward to riding even more. Terry...let's ride!!!

Re: Terry 'ACL' Remembered

I have been thinking for a couple years that I really need to make it to Moonshine and meet Terry, having read so may of his posts. My brother lives in Indy so plan was to use that as a jumping off point. Looks like I waited too long - "he who hesitates is lost"!
My condolences to his family and all you who had the opportunity to know him personally.

I am leaving work mid afternoon tomorrow. I have a room with 2 beds at the comfort inn. Let me know if you want to have the spare bed.

I plan on wearing my gear to both visitations and funeral service. Thats what Terry would want.

Danmit Terry, I was going to make the NEXT Moonshine.

It's going to be a sober Thanksgiving - I'll give thanks for all the joy Terry brought into our lives.

I just got a call from Mark Kunath aka Bigmak96. He is on his way to Casey as I type. He should be in town late as in 11:30 tonight. He is looking for a bed for the night or just floor space. Has his pad and bag. He can be reached on his cell phone at 612-532-6099.

Thanks, on behalf of my friend Mark, Kevin
Thanks Kevin for posting this while I was on the road. I will be in with Kevin Mon night, there is floor space if needed. I am good for Sun. night

Would everyone consider a moonshine t-shirt and riding gear as proper attire for the visitation?
I will be in casual shirt under a Moonshine shirt, Riding jacket and boots.

great minds :D I planned on picking up some tape tomorrow.

I have a funeral to attend here in Wichita on Wednesday, and arrangements to make beforehand. (I remember Terry telling me once before "You are where you need to be.") I've had enough of this stuff to last a good long time.

Unbelievable!:(

It is with a heavy heart that I realize I will be unable to attend any portion of Terry's funeral. While I can't profess to ever having been close to Terry, my wife and I have been privileged to have had the honor of his undivided attention on occasion! The lasting impression he left upon us will be felt may years into our future. I feel it necessary to thank all the members who will be attending for representing all of us who cannot make this trip. And from the depths of my heart I do thank you! Please ride carefully and make sure to share a few laughs,,,I'm sure Terry would want it that way!!!

As for myself...as with Sink...I will be taking a few moments on tuesday to say personal prayers!!!:pray1::pray1::pray1:

Unbelievable!:(

As I will be unable to attend, and it breaks my heart that I can't, I sent a donation through Biddyman,,,of course I'd have sent the donation anyway...

Sigh, such sad news, Terry we miss you already...

This may be a little late, but it just came to me readings Tom's post.
Being that we all understand that people, no matter how badly they want ..... just cannot make it !

So, I offer this ...... I will be leaving my home @ around 11pm est. If anyone wants to jot down a few lines for the family..... Send me a PM, put what you want me to print in quotes and I will print them out and leave them by the quest book when I sign in tomorrow eve.

There is also the online guest book ... Just an offer. For what its worth.

Finally I am able to type something in this thread

What a shock this has been. I have never met Terry, nor conversed by PM or even in a thread but I have enjoyed his posts and admired the friendships he maintained with everyone he seemed to meet. I especially enjoyed his Moonshine threads - his enthusiasm shone like a beacon.

I will miss those wonderfull, colourfull loud and boisterous posts so much. I read every one of them, just to enjoy the energy they radiated.

RIP Terry.

My thoughts and best wishes go to those who are left behind, I am with them in spirit.

Allan
