Found a conversion kit by a company called Fireflies. Even comes with device to take care of flash interval problem. Wondering if anyone has ever used these also looking for a site to purchase clear lenses for 2010 ST1300. I'm new to this forum. Glad to have found you all.

Never heard of the company or a kit. Dunno what would be included in a kit. With the 11 all you need is to change the bulbs and add an electronic flasher. Is the 13 any different?

As Andrew Shadow pointed out in this post in another thread some of us have used FyreFly switchbacks with clear lenses. But I'm not aware of a kit except for UK users. It included a new socket (like out STs) because they don't have the running lights other STs have.

It really helps to include a link to what you're talking about. Your spelling of 'fireflies' could mean a different product or you just spelled the name differently.

As a kit goes you may be thinking of the included resistors in heat sinks. Don't use those. Instead get an LED compatible flasher/relay. It will do the job of wiring on one resistor for each turn signal. It's plug n play unlike wiring those resistors.

It's my opinion that there's maybe one manufacturer in China making the clear turn signal lenses for the ST1300 all years. I went to ebay looking for the cheapest prices with the highest seller rating. I paid about $25 shipping included.

If you go that route you'll need to clean up the flashing (plating) in the socket with a small file or sharp knife. There's a ton of info here if you search 'switchbacks'.

Hey ST Gui,

What bulbs did you use for your front switchbacks? I bought some cheapos off ebay and they are not as bright as I would like.

Thanks

I the used these 60//60 FyreFlys that were mentioned in Andrew's post. Until a minute ago I thought they were no longer available but there they are. I paid $56 at the time and see they're only $40 now.

My avatar shows them in bright daylight though a little off axis. The headlights are the factory 45/45W halogens. I don't know if that's as bright as you want. I don't have a pic of the flashers though but they're pretty bright.

The problem with most LED bulbs in non-LED applications is getting the light to 'fill' the enclosure. Typically you're going to get a hot spot with fall off at the edges of the lens compared to a factory bulb.

Thanks for the link. The running lights on mine are plenty bright but the blinkers are too dim, in my opinion. I think I need to find someone who has done this too and compare mine to theirs in person to see if it's just me. :)

I really like the clear signal lens setup with brilliant white LED changing to amber flashing, it's so cool!

These are the front signal LEDs I'm using https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0734XT5ST
And at the rear https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B071ZDNZNW

I am looking for recommendations on doing the front LED turn signal switchback coversion. Are you still happy with these?

I didn't care for the look of flexible strips in my mirror covers so I pulled them out prefering and still having the three LED assemblies from v8-7 years back.
