Yes it's officially a "Scandi-Gloom" sort of day. Whatever the hell that is.
We best try to rise above the gloominess with some Italian Dark Roast and Vanilla Brioche. That's better.
It's grey, maybe even gray, still and yes, grey. Pffffffftttttt.
After breakfast there'll be some'ats. Isn't there always? I've also got some Wagyu Fillets to prepare. Dinner will be served at 1930 prompt, do not be late. There will be an aged Rioja to assist digestion. It must be Sunday.
Av a gud un and remember, don't talk behind folks backs.
Upt.

Thanks for the call and hot brew, my friend. ‘Fighting the duvet for the past hour so very welcome. Yes, c’est tres mauvais with the temps constant at around 6’c (42’f).

New Irish speed limits for Laneways and not Routes (classes of roads) has me puzzled when many Routes are along very similar stretches to Laneways. The UK’s MABU classes would help. Ho hum. Neither they or this well-used weather matter much when the riding’s this good, except maybe the crud under the motor and stands. Why can’t bikes have freaking under trays?

Got me some oil and filters for Sherbert (‘23 GL) from Pan Clan Ireland’s Ciaran over Gorey way yesterday. We’re near the 12K km (8K miles) service mark already. It was a great ride in spite the weather as I broke out my very old Heine Gerricke Gortex-Pro suit - lost weight, so back to comfy and a trustingly dry crouch. How I missed it!

Anyway, hallway to finish painting and oil to swap. Maybe take Mrs G for a spin later - or instead, too. It’s what Sundays are for.

Ride safe y’all
Pat

Hi everyone

Thanks for the Italian roast Ray, and the brioche. Mrs Fun and I are killing time in an airport cafe in Hanoi, waiting for 1800 hours to roll around (it 1700 now, we've been here since 1400) so we can check in four our 2230 flight (11 hours in the air) to Istanbul. We'll spend about 3 hours on the ground there then it's another 11 hours in the air to get home. At least we're in business class all the way.

The cafe wifi goes like gangbusters so, as promised yesterday, a few photos.

A few more, just because...

Very common sight here...

Maximum overload. This was a bicycle but could just as easily have been a scooter.

These were above every urinal at one shrine's WC. Seriously, instructions are needed for this?

Thx Ray!
Is there a dress code?

-6c/21f, sunny, calm, a cold walk today.

Yesterday afternoon I watched a front roll in from west.
A lot of warnings, but it did like the cruise ships, ditched it all in the ocean.
Not a drop of anything here.

Today Mrs Stus parents are coming over for dinner, cooked by Mrs Stu….say no more.
And Peter too is coming, his parents are doing some accounting.

Have a good one!
Stu

Yesterdays front of something, maybe a scandi-gloom?

Same here sitting at around 5c. When I was a child, and in fact right up to now, it was/is called grey skies! Just appears that in todays world plain english is difficult to use. My latest pet hate is using uptick when they actually mean increase

Had daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter (8 weeks old already!) and grandpuppy around yesterday for dinner. Festering today, can't quite figure out what to do with ourselves. Probably post holiday blues.

Thanks for the brew. Might stay inside for a bit. We have winter storm warnings by the dozen here. I will have to go out later to clear the snow off the gazebo as it can’t take the snow load. ;)
Enjoy your day everyone.
;)

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Ray. Vanilla brioche sounds good, too.

I awoke at 7:00am to the sound of our cat, Freya, yodeling up the stairs. She calmed down, with breakfast and some rubs.

It's cloudy and 24, with about 3" of new snow on the ground. The temperature should rise to 33, and we're being told to expect freezing rain this morning, mixing with rain, later.

I never did go for that walk, yesterday.
We went to our tax prepairer, instead. OUCH!
We knew we'd take a hit, cashing in 30 years worth of savings bonds and stock to pay for the new kitchen and bath, and we did.
But, the project is paid for. I'll move some money around on Tuesday, so Brenda can write the IRS and MA gov checks.

The snow began around 5-ish last night, so we decided to dine close by. The chicken saltinbocca special at the restaurant across the street was excellent, and Brenda enjoyed her scallops.

Today, I'll eventually go out and clean up the sidewalks and driveway, and we'll head out for cat food and other supplies before dinner.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Happy Sunday all, and thanks Ray, for getting us started.

@kiltman :canflag1: indeed! Everyone buy Canadian. You know you all wanna.

There's a hint of sun in the heavy clouds currently, lulling you into a false sense of semi-contentment. Online, the list of scrolling red doom weather messages tells another story. Somewhere in between those 2 extremes, it what we'll get. -13/-18 now, -4/-12 for the high, 15cm snow & 6 hours of freezing rain, maybe some ice pellets, all give or take. It'll be, what it'll be. I think that's a song....

Regardless, it's going to be a good day, I can feel it in my bones. Or is that a new ache and pain?

Hope everyone has a super Sunday and does something fun.

Cheers,

Obo.

What ya sellin, any bargains or bogof's.

G'morning, all, and thanks for the coffee and brioche, Ray - always a delight.

An old song lyric just about describes our current weather conditions: "Second verse, same as the first, a little bit louder and a little bit worse."
The tempest continues and it looks very much like we'll wind up with more snow than from Thursday's storm. Very glad I shovelled my balcony off yesterday; needless to say, said shovel remains at the ready, as I'll be repeating the exercise in a day or two. Today's temps will range from -10°C/14°F (feels like -20°C/-4°F) to -8°C/18°F (will feel like -17°C/1°F).

Time for more coffee. Everyone have a good one, stay safe and go safely (including you and Mrs. Fun, Keith, and you and Mrs. G, Pat!)

Patty

Good morning all!
Thanks for another hot start Ray!
We won’t be able to get there in time, I’ll need more notice!

We attended a dinner theatre yesterday, it was a comedy and it was great!
We enjoyed a local band at our clubhouse last evening, silver hair rained supreme, although there were many who managed to pull off young looking colourful hair.
We danced till Miss Judy couldn’t any more.
Why does my head hurt today…

77/84F it’s a SSW bre-e-e-ezy day with clouds & sunshine.
I’ll just stay inside for a wee bit, I’m sure I’ll feel better, once I get operational.

Keith, I bet you’ll be happy to sort out your own bed!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Morning all! Scandi-gloom here as well; wet grey rainy weather, 4C with a high of 7C to come. And rain. More rain.

Not sure what we'll get up to today. Probably naps. And couch time. Maybe the odd walk to the back door to take the dogs to the run. The plague is slowly lifting and I don't seem to feel the same need to bring my lungs out to the exterior quite as often which makes for a nice change. Weird what 7+ hours of sleep will accomplish.

Hope everyone has a great day!

We've had more than enough rain here, with another line go through just now.1739721469664.png

We're up to 47F/8.5C here in SoMD, supposed to continue rain a bit longer then get blowy. Stayed up late working on the snowblower. Don't think I'll get parts in time to sell it before the upcoming storm, and I don't like selling things that I knowingly aren't finished. It works fine, just needs some worn-out parts replaced. Oh well. Guess I'll do inside things instead, whatever may come up.

The coffee and eats were delish, thanks Ray! Had to make some brown sugar bacon to even it out and make the missus happy. Take care y'all!

Morning Ray & All from sunny, but still cold, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 37F, up from 30F and heading for 52F. A slight breeze is blowing and later we'll see the winds from the SW @ 13 to 15mph.

I spent some more time in the garage yesterday to remove the alternator and clean out the valley. My next trick will be to lift up the engine and start on the front cover, to replace the water pump and clutch and clutch slave at the back. At least it will be easy to get to. I'll be replacing all of the orings/seals also.

Church today, so not much else will happen.

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast and OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) will come later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
