Good morning, everyone. Rise and shine and help yourselves to a hot cup of Folger’s, before the storm gets here. You better hurry, cause the doom and gloom forecasters say it’s gonna hit in about 10 minutes.

65/75 , rain with damaging winds at 20 MPH, gusting to 60. Oh, let’s throw in a tornado watch while we’re at it.

Why am I up at 3:30? The wonder dog was growling at the bedroom window and wouldn’t shut up, no matter what I threatened. So, I get up and pulled the blinds to show him that nothing was there, and was surprised by 2 large does, looking in the window. After seeing the intruders, Teddy went back to sleep. Me, I made coffee.

good morning all. thank you for the coffee John, much needed after the dog walk. 46F on the dog walk but it had a cold wet wind to treat you to. after the first walk with #1 dog I got another layer of jacket on before #2 headed out the door at 2:45am besides the cold wind, the sky had dark clouds with some openings to let a few stars shine and a big full moon to add some light. I'm such a wimp but this desert rat likes the heat. someone asked me... you ever move back to Pennsylvania. maybe to spread my ashes :)
don't know what's up for the day so I think I'll nap until wife gets up. the dogs are happy and warm so for them life is good. still a chance of rain until 6am but should clear up by 10am with a high of 61F. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the early jamoke, John. Teddy the Wonder Dog and his antics are endlessly amusing to me, since I don't have to feed or walk him.

It's 44°F and cloudy in Rockville at this hour (0640 Eastern). Mostly cloudy and a high 59 are the expected conditions for later on, by which time I'll be in PA at Mrs. Fun's sister's place outside Philadelphia. We'll go today, return home Thursday afternoon. Various and sundry tasks await me while I'm there, or so I've been told. Therefore, I'll have to spend some time today assembling a collection of tools to be taken with me.

The Great Azalea Bush Relocation Project, 2025 Edition got finished yesterday, by moving a bush that I'd moved the day before, because the spot I had put it in wasn't the one that Mrs. Fun was expecting.

We had a pleasant evening yesterday, as dinner guests of friends (one of whom is a co-author of the graphic novel that Mrs. Fun has been working on for the past two years). They've recently moved from their house of 38 years to a brand new senior living condominium. It was really nice, with scads of amenities, but YIPE! the price tag is S-T-E-E-P. I'm going to have to re-think my finances, if we're ever going to try for a place like that. OTOH, as nice as it was, I'm not all that certain I want to live in that style.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good morning, thanks John for coffee, which I will enjoy later this morning, 3:30 bladder needed draining, mind hamsters have kept me up. Last night going through tools figuring out what to sell, going to put them hamsters to work. After putting the accessories belt on the Mazda , I realized my professional mechanicing days are over, skin very fragile, blood blisters and man were my hands stiff the next day. So who needs 10 mm sockets . Agenda for today, Open gate, breakfast, and 10 am attend a meeting for paving a taxiway between to hangers, the joys of a committee run Airport, and before that go back to bed for hopefully two more hours of sleep. Cheers Gerard.

Thx John, and Dave!

Hope the storm doesn’t affect you.

9˚c/48f, overcast, quite calm, springish.

It’s Peters 5th birthday today, so there’s a party including thai food in a bit.
Mrs Stu is still down with the flu so she will stay at home, and there are no others from her family attending the party, so Peter will have all the attention….and there will be no yelling or badmouthing for once.
This will be nice!

Been for a walk. A little shopping before the party.

Have a reeeeal nice Saturday!
Stu

Great dog! Did you train him to lure in deer or was that a natural triat in him.

I love that dog!

Oh and hi to you too Jim.

Now that we've passed the full moon - barely - I actually managed to sleep through the night, something I hadn't managed for the past two or three nights. Hope you get back to that state as well, soon.

Mrs Stu is still down with the flu
Oof. That's been going on for a while now, hasn't it? No fun for either of you; my sympathies to both.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, John.

It's 37 and cloudy, rising to 57 and staying cloudy all day. They're predicting some showers overnight, though.

Yesterday's activities included a trip to the gym, a wasted trip to dispose of Freya's used syringes, and a dog walk for a little over 3 miles.
We also went to the local wholesale store for some supplies, and Cabelas for ammo.

Today, I'll head to my friend's restaurant to perform a maintenance chore or two, then home for the day,

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning all!
Thanks for the hot Foldgers start John!
Who’s a good boy? Teddy is!
Dave’s funnies and hugs are always appreciated!
Stoo’s pictures are always great!
Presently 67/88 F, a mostly sunny day with a SSE breeze to keep us from sweating too much!
Today is party day on our canal!
1st annual “Rock the Dock!”
We’ll give it a decent try!
“Ray” you are missed!

G'morning, folks, and thanks for the coffee, John! That storm must have hit with a fury by now - hope all's well!

Mainly sunny today and veeeery springlike. We have 0°C/32°F with a feels-like of -4°C/25°F right now, and the high will reach a whopping 14°C/57°F. My space will get pleasantly aired out with open windows today.
I am so angry at my local pharmacy right now, I could spit nails. I am incapacitated enough and in enough pain to require crutches, so I rented some from the pharmacy yesterday evening by phone...except that they had stopped deliveries for the day. I have an appt. to have my dressing changed at 9:15, but the pharmacy doesn't start delivering until 1 pm today. So after a frantic scramble, two of my very kind neighbours went and picked them up for me and are also taking me to the clinic this morning.
Unfortunately, despite the fact that I specified that I'm 5'6" tall, they gave me crutches for someone who's 5'2. So we'll have to stop there on the way back to get that sorted. Can't say I'm surprised - the girl that answered the phone yesterday sounded like she was about 10 years old...and stoned.

Anyway, gotta go. Have a good one, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

G'mornin' y'all! Yesterday was a blur as I was up most of the night for the eclipse, only to be almost thwarted by VERY low clouds (not quite fog). I kept waiting in the chilly night, seeing ripples in the cloud deck until I finally got a glimpse enough to get a hazy photo. NTM my good camera wasn't behaving, so Samsung to the rescue! Got the money shot (more like spare change), went to bed, got up and went in to work, played some v-ball, worked more, got home, fed animals and wife, and crashed.

Today is another cool & cloudy day before the storms come thru tomorrow. 45F/7C now, up to only 58F.

Today will be composed of theater auditions for Brighton Beach Memoirs, then a visit to the stables where the wife keeps her horse as it needs shoes...I'll spare the details. Let me just say I'll never understand how horses survived in the wild when they are so injury- and disease-prone when coddled in a stable. I'll stick to my much-more-reliable and less expensive iron horse. General cleanup inside otherwise, nothing exciting. Take care y'all!

Well mind hamsters got me out of bed at 5 am ,so have had breakfast, waiting for gate opening time,7 am. Hey Patty are you sure those crutches aren't adjustable? Stu liked the picture, amazed at how similar the forest looks like some of B.C. , maybe science is right about the continents being together at one time. JD, good picture, me like. Take care Y'all, G

Morning all, and thanks to Teddy & John for getting us going.

Teddy the Wonder Dog and his antics are endlessly amusing to me, since I don't have to feed or walk him.

And what about John's antics? You don't have to feed or walk him either...

2C headed to 10C. It's said there will be Sun, but the current heavy cloud cover says otherwise.

On today's bill is sanding mud in the main upstairs bathroom, and maybe a haircut.

Hope everyone has a super Saturday.

Obo.

Morning all! Still dark here and pouring rain. That will continue for most the day; allegedly there may be some sun towards the end of the afternoon. I won't hold my breath.....mostly cause it hurts and I get these spots before my eyes. It's 5C and the high will be 9C.

Have to decided if I want to take a load of yard waste to the dump in the rain or not. It's mostly ivy again, darn stuff is all over the place, but since it's considered an invasive species it means pitchforking it into a dumpster for about half an hour while getting poured on. There wouldn't appear to be any benefit in doing it except that it has to be done at some point and I may need the trailer for something else plus I could take a load of recycling as well to help kick off the annual Great Garage Cleanout.

I'll need to get the young dog out for a walk at some point, maybe late afternoon if the weather breaks as promised. He's bouncing off the walls and terrorizing the older dog along with the rest of the house. He's pretty funny, he trundles through the house like the reindeer Sven from Frozen.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks for the coffee, John, I'm just about finished for now. I know you'll be sending the wild windy and wet weather to me in a few hours when you've finished playing with it.

But before that comes, i may ride down to the local dealer for their Indian demo day and maybe ride one. Not that I'm at all interested in owning one. These are the motorcycles, y'all, not native American people in case I've confused anyone.

Maybe get the chainsaw back together, that keeps spitting out the stuff that keeps the clutch in place, now that i have spares again. It might be nice to have if the weather throws down any more limbs or trees. It could happen.

Good luck with the crutches, Patty, I would've though they were adjustable. Never had to use them though, so what I think doesn't matter much.

I trust everyone here will avoid any weather chaos. I'm at a point in my life that I'm not interested in any drama that I haven't created myself. And usually I regret even that drama.

Hey Patty are you sure those crutches aren't adjustable?

I would've though they were adjustable

Yes, crutches are indeed adjustable. Trouble is, these are already set to their maximum height, which is 5'2". So they can be made shorter, but not longer.
That's why you always have to specify your height when you get crutches. If they'd given me a pair that would fit someone a little taller than me, I could adjust them to my own height.
