STOC TAG

Derek has posted another picture on My-Mc so I have taken the liberty of copying it over here......

St Paul's in Londinium....

Derek said in his post;

Sorry for the silence, but life has got in the way somewhat.

The guys have done some travelling since the last report. Just one shot taken today from near St Pauls Cathedral in London below:

George,

I met Derek last night at dinner here in Houffalize Belgium. He has some more photos to post from his very wet rides here.

I don't expect to be able to ride for at least a month or two. Do you want me to take the tag to Italy knowing I can't ride for a bit?

JD

Get as many pictures and sigs and comments as you feel able and by all means take the TAG..... how long before you get to ride again? IS there someone else who could take it, please remember they need to post if possible on here.....
Can you let us know who has it and where it's headed?

Speaking of which, here is Derek's latest picture from Londinium.....

Houses of Parliament and Big Ben (the bell in the clock tower is actually Big Ben....)

Ok barring any other comments Derek and I will pass the TAG tonight at Dinner. My ST will be back on the road in about two weeks. I will probably be able to ride in about six weeks to two months.

No rain so far today!! Out exploring!!

JD

Sure wish I would have thought about this earlier... would have been nice to start a google map with pinpoints of every pic location and that pic, it would take a lot of time now. I'll see if I can put some time together and start a google public map and maybe we can get this going.

I started a new post here for the details so I can get the past tags pinned to a map:

Derek French wrote over on My-Mc;

Bastogne, Belgium 27 August.
The site of a fierce and successful defence by the US army during the Battle of the Bulge Dec44/Jan45 where the commanding US Army officer famously replied 'Nuts' to a request by the commander of the surrounding German forces to surrender.
The tags have travelled with me around Europe for about 5000 miles. They have now been passed forward to James who is based in Naples in Italy. Transfer took place at the european Pan Clan International Gathering held this year on Houffalize in Belgium in the Ardennes last weekend in August. Fantastic riding countryside when it is sunny!

Not I sir..... Derek French form the MY-MC forum has had the TAG, either Cammy or I have re-posted his efforts over here.....

Hello Everyone. I have the STOC TAG. I will do my best to keep this moving in the same manner as my predecessors! I am seing the Orthopedic Surgeon tomorrow fingers crossed for good news so I can get on with mending quickly and get back on the road.

The first picture is Derek and I passing the TAG in the banquet hall where we had dinner at the 2011 Pan Gathering in Houffalize Belgium.

The second picture is us, friends from the UK, Czech Republic, the roudy German table on one side of us and the sedate French table on the other side!

The third picture is the first on the road. This is a Winery and B&B near Radda in Chianti, Italy. (http://www.vescine.it/hotel-siena/en/index.html) what a fabulous place!! Highly recommended if you are in the neighborhood. This area is one of our favorites in all of Italy, great food, wine, people and the roads are spectacular!

More to follow . . . . . .

Hey!

I am back up and almost running! I will have my ST back on the road TODAY. More TAG to Follow!!

Ally and I decided to go downtown. The walk really tested my Physical Therapy regimen!! Here are some photos from the excursion.

Christmas Ally (Via San Gregorio Armeno) in Naples is a place where Precepi are made and sold. They also have all the pices you need to make or customize your own. 40.8503858N 14.2576133E

The Ornament pictured is a full plastic trash bag. There was a Christmas tree last year with nothing on it but these, too funny.

The Duomo is the Cathedral of Naples. 40.8523801N 14.2588645E http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duomo_of_Naples

Gallleria Umberto is a really intersting building. 40.8384529N 14.2494929E http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galleria_Umberto

Here are some more photo's . . . .

Naples has several "underground" tours. This is one, another is behind the picture of the precepi under the San Lorenzo Catheral. During WWII these underground areas were lived in and used to protect themselves from Allied bombing and shelling. These and the underground areas in Rome are amazing! 40.8510238N 14.2568502E http://www.napoliunderground.org/en/component/content/article/64/64.html http://www.history.com/shows/cities...of-the-underworld-3-vesuvius-ancient-aqueduct

Well it is Veteran's Day 11-11-11.

We being Military serving overseas - Veteran's, Active Duty and Retired - gathered ouselves and rode to the Sicily-Rome American Cemetary in Nettuno, Italy to pay our respects to those who have gone before us and gave the ultimate sacrifice. The beaches of Anzio are on the coast just a few miles away (http://www.abmc.gov/cemeteries/cemeteries/sr.php)

Today was absolutely incredible. The weather could not have been more perfect, mid-sixties, light clouds, bright sun. What a day!!!

I led the group today. What a great turn out! I did not count motorcycles and people but heard 42 motorcycles and 51 people. I'll update that when I get the actual number. My day was bit nerve wracking, you know how they drive here, formation motorcycle rides are not the norm!!

We had a photo journalist with us for the ride. When she posts the 200+ photo's she took I will add that link. We braved Rome traffic and had lunch at the Hard Rock Rome. She is slowly posting the photos here: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/media/set/?set=oa.235930516469744&type=1
