Take a look at chrome axle nut covers. Many are made for the Cruiser crowd, just need to do the conversion to metric.

I have one on one of my 1100s and a spare. I can't seem to lay my hands on it. There was a thread many moons ago. I'll give it another look around tomorrow. It's in the little Honda plastic bag with the part number on it. I lost a lot of part numbers and off the wall information a few years ago when my computer crashed.
With Heli-Bars it looks nicer than the standard part but the washer underneath it isn't chrome or stainless steel. I was going to get a stainless steel one and try polishing it up but ... The ugly stock stuff was probably because it was all under the plastic handle bar cover.

35 camera film was sold in black plastic canisters to protect the film from exposure to light. One of these canisters can be cut to the required height and pushed on to the threaded stem to hide the threads and dress the area up a bit.
Thanks, not quite what i had in mind.
