Question about St1300 seats. Will a 2009 st1300 seat (full seat length of a stock seat) fit seamlessly on a 2012 st1300? The used seat is a Corbin.

They fit only in the lowest seating position. But Yes.

The rear locking loop sometimes gets bent and the fit isn't always as smooth as it should be. But the loop can be removed and shaped and a couple of washers sorts out any issues like that.

Ahhh, thank you. So I would have to ‘McGyver’ it a bit. I could do that. Again, time to sell the idea to my wife, then begin the negotiation dance.

The fettling may not be necessary. They come fitting perfectly, but when the seat is taken off, they tend to be put on the ground to avoid damaging the leather / fabric, so the loop takes a hammering. I was just mentioning it in case you bought it and it doesn't seem to fit properly. Mine is a Corbin Dual Canyon. My wife much prefers it to the stock seat.

If its one with a heated seat, that would sell it.

Do you mean when it changed from The ST1100 to the 1300 ? 2002 for the Uk.

Not heard of that phrase with respect to the ST1300

There was a big ish change in 2004 when the engine mountings were changed.

And another in 2008 when the front brakes, smc, abs system were changed, along with the ECU and a couple of other smaller changes.

But in the Uk there was a new model in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2014. Not sure about 2003.
USA had a change in 2012 that I know of.

Good, thank you. I am looking to buy a used Corbin seat and all I am getting right now is a ‘second generation st1300.’ Geez eh? I believe my 2012 is a ‘second generation.’ Now to determine if they will come down from $975 Canadian, although I have another lead on a more reasonably priced Corbin seat from a gentleman in Quebec. Hoping that will come to fruition. Thanks again.

Another question. What year did the ST become, ‘second generation?’
I would recognize 2008 as that year for the 1300. As a company Honda is notorious for releasing a mid-model refresh to their cars and motorcycles if it lasts more than 3 years on a platform. You can virtually bank on it.

With their cars, you really want to wait for that refresh because they either fix minor-to-major problems, or add features - my 2008 Acura TL added several standard features that the 2004-07 lacked or were dealer added options like foglights, turnsignals in the mirrors, etc...

Of course there's the enhanced toolkit for the 2008 ST1300 and beyond <insert sarcasm here>

But as for the Corbin seat, their bases are crude examples of 'engineering' if you can call them that. I'm not surprised at all that a fair amount of fettling would be needed. Unlike his competitors (that I'm aware of), you need to rearrange the bracket at the rear of the solo rider section to allow it to be properly positioned at the three different height positions. Tools required.

Love my Dual Canyon Sport on my 1100 from the seat of my pants. Flip it over and look at the base and you'd think it was made in a high school shop class.
