ST1300 Lowered Driver Foot Pegs Options- Knight Design

If you really need that extra 2-5 km/hr on a sharp corner, then you’re probably young and flexible enough to ride an ST using the stock ergonomics.

Pete

Good post but I feel obliged to say, 60+ years of age and obsession with the lean are not mutually exclusive. I would go to lowered pegs if it didn't temper my style. Generally, and you did use the word probably, your statement is sound :)

They look small and possibly slippery.
I didn't see any specifications on their website detailing what the dimensions are but they look to small to interest me to. The lowering mounts and the foot pegs are sold separately. So as far as slippery is concerned if you look at the column on the right side of the webpage you'll find a list of your choices of foot pegs. Included is several rubberized foot pegs.

Adding another option I just came across. I found only one thread mentioning these pegs. The poster asked for a review/information on them. Because no one responded I'm assuming that no one here is familiar with them so I thought that I would add them as another option. They offer a lot more adjustability than any others that I have seen but they are not cheap.

My 2 cents... These look uncomfortable, being a round tube. The other possible issue is, with the MCL brackets, The issue I had was that they move the peg out as well as down which causes clearance issues in my experience. I could be wrong, but from the pictures, it looks like the mounting and swiveling options on these move the pegs outward, like the MCL brackets do. With the increased drop of these pegs, I would be concerned with clearance issues moreso than the MCL brackets create. Hard to tell from the pics. YMMV.

I put goldwing pegs on my ST today and the only measured 1/2” lower. FYI

Bringing this old thread back to life. It looks like Knight has gone, and MCL is long gone. Does anyone make a driver peg lowering kit anymore? My Google search turned up nothing.

Like The Dan in post #24 I tried the Gold Wing pegs and really like them. The peg is wider than the ST stock one and more comfortable. The lean angle is almost the same as the stock pegs. I tried the MCL lowering pegs a long time ago and did not feel safe using them because they dragged very easily, and you never know when you might need the extra lean angel to get around a corner.

Knight is not gone. I know the family through having the owner's daughter on our high school robotics team. She told me that it appears that after a major website revamp that visits to the old site are not being redirected to the new one.

Here's a link to their ST1300 product offerings.

And ST1100

If the picture is missing from the pages I linked, click through to that specific product's page to see its photo.

They make exceptionally well designed and manufactured parts. It's literally a mom, pop and daughter, three person operation.

Mom still owes me an anodizing training session.

Tell them I sent you. No discounts implied or offered for that, however. :)
