ST1300 longevity

My 2005 1300 is at 89k. I'd love to keep riding it for a long time, but it is a 20 year old bike, and some parts are no longer available from Honda and hard to come by. I recently had to replace the ECM and was lucky to find one on eBay. Hopefully that corrected my FI light issue, but I haven't fully confirmed it yet. I stay on top of maintenance, but have decided not to do any expensive upgrades like seats or electronic cruise control (Go Cruise is good enough).

Approaching 150k on mine but riding a lot less now that I'm not commuting to work (haven't yet booked regular long day trips to fill the void!) so although one of my co-workers let me take his '18 DCT Wing up and down the training range yesterday, I probably won't be going to the dealer anytime soon. Everything in the garage is paid for (and the garage is almost too!), I'm comfortable working on my ride, and when I'm not, there is always plenty of help here. New SMC last year when I did the brakes, so should be over that hump for awhile again. Other than the nuisance ECM code, which is honestly probably not related to the ECM but to the sub-harness melting near the right knock sensor that I haven't replaced yet, I really don't have any problems with it. I have been eyeing an MC Cruise because I really liked the function provided previously by the Audiovox (when it worked). But again, I was doing mostly highway commuting. Only broken plastic is one of the upper rear side panels that didn't seat right around a screw but that's just cosmetic. I don't wash it enough but sure do enjoy riding it!
