In June I got out for a big ride.

For the first 9 days I was accompanied by two friends as we completed the Iron Butt Association's (IBA) Far North Insanity which requires riding to the two road-accessible Territories plus all ten Canadian Provinces in under 14 days.

After that ride I completed the Southern California Motorcycling Association's (SCMA) Four Corners True X Tour hitting up Madawaska, ME; San Ysidro, CA; Key West, FL; and Blaine, WA with visits to Lebanon, KS between each corner location. In the process I also rode 10 of the SCMA's Best 15 Roads having previously hit up the other five in April/May after riding to the final Moonshine and the Austin MotoGP. I finished the True X in 17 days.

Stats from my June trip are:

31 Days - May 31 to June 30
1 Caribou
2 Territories
4 litres oil changed
10 Provinces
29 States
32,689 km (20,316 miles)

SCMA
10 Best 15 Roads
1 Four Corners True X Tour

IBA
3 * 1000+ mile days
1 Far North Insanity Challenge
1 National Parks Tour Master Traveler Gold certification (after visiting Wrangell-St Elias in Alaska and Kluane in the Yukon at the end of Sept 2017 I visited another 64 Parks in 27 more States/Provinces during my two big trips in April and June 2018)

Anyhow, it wasn't until the second last day of my ride in June that I realized I had created some art reminiscent of ancient cave drawings. Some of you may recall the Shark that was drawn across SE Australia some years ago which Mike Kneebone highlighted in the final issue of the Iron Butt Magazine. That was pretty cool and done on purpose. What I saw, unknowingly traced out by the orange dots from my trip, was the likeness of a Caribou or some other such large member of the Cervidae family. Judge for yourself.

Anyone else drawn any cool SPOTWalla Art, on purpose or inadvertently?

That's a heck of a ride report. You made some miles for sure! I like the Caribou art. I rode 77 to NWT last year myself and that's almost as lonely of a road as 9 across Kansas!

Great ride year for you!

Holy crap!!!!!:bow1::bow1:

That is some serious riding!!

I agree about the caribou drawing thing. First thing I thought of when I saw it.

Years ago Paul Pelland (longhaulpaul.com) who’s mission is to raise awareness for MS, had a contest to create spotwalla art. He had a few different categories, one being a lighthouse. The rules stated the ride had to be at least 500 miles. I tell ya what, it’s harder than you think to “draw” something. Here was my lighthouse submission. Not that great, but it was fun.

Great art there Kendoo. I was looking forward to meeting you at Ft. Stockton, sorry the weather didn't agree with a ride for you.
