SMC Failed

Rear brakes replaced after running to the local stealer. I asked if they price match other dealers and they said yes. Until I showed the Ron Ayers price. $30 difference.

I recently bought two pair of front pads for my 2012. Price searching didn't help from the States,,, or from online Canadian resellers. But I did find that I could get two sets from Britain for a total $50.cdn savings, providing that no unexpected fees or duties were applied. But being uncertain of this,,, I just decided to bite the bullet and support my local mom and pop bike shop, this time around. It's surprising that you can find parts that well discounted, on the other side of the ocean. I have heard of some riders getting better buys direct from Japan resellers,,, compared to domestic sources. It can certainly pay to shop around,,, cheers,, CAt'

Tires and brakes….:rofl1:
If your fluids were flushed and changed yearly, chances are your SMC may still be in good working order, however, with that said, your pads are filthy, as probably your pistons too.
Your guide dowels could be dry and dirty as well etc.
Your O-ring on your pad pin could be damaged or missing, clips could have been bent replacing pads, axle and stopper bolts could have been installed in the wrong order, causing misalignment etc.
Your flange bearings could have gone south, bearings, condition of the front calipers etc.
There are way too many things to check/test/inspect before just ordering a part because it failed last time.
