They don't need to be show quality, just remove the aluminum corrosion and scuff 'em for some paint...we'll see.

As for the fart fan, if you haven't already figured it out reversing the wires won't make it spin the opposite direction. AC doesn't work that way. Only thing I can figure is there was some sort of renovation done and that fan was an exhaust from another bathroom and it exited in a different place? Or they put it in backwards. Any empty Newcastle bottles tucked up in there as well to signal the builder's state of mind back then?

No Newcy Brown Bottles located.
All three identical fans fitted at the same time by the same electrician. They're all exhaust, or should be.
When the odd one inhales it works like it should but in reverse.
It's me isn't it?
It just fits to a pipe to outside which is obviously open because it inhales like a gud un, there are no flappy covers on them either.

Thanks Ray, but was the fan near the cooffeee pot...... Kinda dusty.

Overcast and below freezing this morning. Got an inch of snow last night. Just enough to make it look pretty.

In regards to suckingand blowing...... Can you take the fan out and turn it around.....????? I take the easy way if at all possible.

I’m grumpy.

The morning came and went with 8C (“feels like 1C). Storm run off’s blocked our well supply and it’s Public Holiday, so no water = I get the backlash from the household. Coffee suffers when it starts life out a plastic bottle. I’d do time for a slice strudel, so thanks for the supply!

Feeling down? I rally! I’ve recorded Sherbert starting up. The plan is, next we RTE or similar, I’ll park leaving ACC in play, Bluetooth connected, and volume high. I’ll announce the addition of remote start in my “new app”, and press Play on the phone. Ha ha! Temptations to record a Harley instead…or a…

Morning Ray & All from a :wind1:, Southern Utah!

Currently, it is 51F, heading for 61F with the winds out of the SSW @ 10 to 18mph and later up to 30mph!

Yesterday, like most Sundays, not much went on. today, that could be a different story. My plans for the day include pulling the 2006 out of the garage for a pressure wash type bath. We'll see how clean I can get the engine. I'll use the leaf blower to dry it off, if the winds don't beat me to it. I'll then ride it back into the garage to continue the tear down.

Lazyman's breakfast, with toast. Pepsi(s) on order for later.

No it's a sealed one way only fitment.

Something tells me that odd one is defective or has gone bad. And yes there should be louvers to keep rain and birds out.

With having concrete roof tiles the ducting exits through this type of system. The entry to the vent is gauzed or similar and is angled in a way to prevent damp etc. There doesn't have to be a one way valve in the system, regs don't require them, you can get quite a blow through them if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction.
But from your previous comment, if this is an exit fan, which it is, and it can't rotate in the wrong direction because it's AC......it is? No?

You could try swapping the two leads from the mains to the other terminals. Normally that only works with DC though. It's possible there's a bridge rectifier inside the motor converting the AC to DC....

Okay, I just thought of having a bathroom heater fan. I have one in our master bath. That would blow INTO the room. But you say they are all the same, so I presume no heat strips in there. Brainstorming...

If as Obo says there is a bridge rec in there, then the leads to the fan motor itself would have to be swapped for it to work correctly. Maybe take a close look at it and another and compare wire colors and routing.

A look on the shape of the prop blades vs its rotation would give a clue... (convex side facing "out" in direction of air-flow, concave side to intake...)
Likely defective, those cheap 1-phase 2-pole AC motors don't even have a capacitor, instead a "distortion" copper wind through the stator creating a phase shift to generate a rotating field...
(I reckon a call for a front loader washer decades ago over barely emptying, darn pump motor also rotated in the wrong direction...)
Trying to tinker ain't worth the effort, way quicker to just slap a new one in and get on with your life...

Doesn't appear energy efficient nor comfortable, but this "forced extraction" explains why you hardly experience any mist in this particular bathroom...

BTW you might look at a SIKU 100MTHL, featuring timer and hygrostat(!), seen for € 67,- at Reichelt...
