Of course we should, the Italian Dark Roast is ready and the Apple and Plum Strudel is out of the oven too. Help ya'selves.
It's mild, still and bright, it'll do.
Now here's a question for the clever people on here, oh gawd, what could go wrong.
I have three bathroom extractor fans?
2 suck and 1 blows, that is two extract and one inhales.
Despite living here for 11 years, we never use the damn things and it was only when I was scraping the crap out of the vent where I am presently decorating I discovered the issue. I put the fan on to suck the crap out and ended up wearing it. Pffffffftttttt.
So....
Will an extractor connected in reverse polarity.
1. Do nowt.
2. Caboom.
3. Run in reverse.
4. Some'at else.
I don't know if it was set up incorrectly or not although I'm pretty sure it should suck, I haven't checked the wiring yet, I'm guessing there will be a junction box near to the fan but access will be difficult/impossible due to that being on the 1.5 side of the hoose.
I'm also thinking that maybe changing/checking the wiring in the on off switch or isolator switch may reveal the fault, if indeed it is.
Can I at this point stress and clarify I'm an electrical idiot.
Thank you.
Suggestions on a postcard please.
Av a gud un and remember, sucking is just blowing in reverse.
Upt.

It's about time that blummin Norwegian was back home, too much fun isn't good for a Scandinavian.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the Italian roast Ray.

It's mild, still and bright, it'll do.

Same here. We've tied up to the bank in order to allow those interested to go ashore and visit another village, the poorest we'll see apparently. That's pretty far down the scale.

Along with several others I elected to stay aboard and watch the Mekong slip quietly past from the comfort of a deck chair. If not for the quiet thrum of the ship's generator it would be about silent. What a lovely, lazy afternoon.

Tomorrow is our final day aboard RV Champa Pandaw, with the present company. Six of us will travel on the 5th to join another Pandaw boat in Halong Bay, Vietnam, and cruise slowly up the Red River to Hanoi. That'll take ten days or so; we fly home two weeks from today.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

G'Day,
hope the Strudel comes with some whipped cream, we know that cholesterol enhances the taste... ;)

Fans are mysterious beings, especially the UK made Xpelair with their rather rudimentary instructions and an odd wall-mounted switch-plate spiced my apprenticeship years with grieve...

old-fan-internal.jpg

I'd consult a manual though, some are one directional and not designed to be switched from exhaust to ventilation or vice versa...
My restroom/toilet fart-extractor is energized by a delay-on/follow-up time relay, the one in the bathroom also by a follow-up relay, governed by a hygrostat keeping it on >58% RLH...

-4°/4°C today, blue skies, sunny, some haze with a pink horizon in the morning, but the first time some actual daylight on ze way to work...

A number of car operators obviously don't own an ice scraper, hence using some membership card instead, which gets only 3~5% off...

GF is at the doctor's...
We'll see what heavy antibiotics she'll get prescribed...
Called in sick, still high temps... more bed-rest...

Office, slow day, semester break, so thankfully low traffic...

enjoy the start into the week!

good morning all. as always Ray thank you for the coffee. 51F on the dog walk with a clear sky so star's had a good time showing off their brightness.
got gym this morning and some running around to do. mostly Walgreens to pick up some medicine and a Wal Mart stop. that will fill my day. it's hard work being retired. the afternoon temp should see 80F. enjoy the day

stay safe

Morning all and thanks for the coffee Ray. I'm glad the night is finally over. Between a sore shoulder and a Doberman and a Dachshund fighting for bed space it was a night without end.

Ray I'm pretty sure with AC current reversing polarity will have no effect on which way a fan runs although I may be wrong. Today feels like I may be wrong a lot!

Be safe out there, avoid electrical shock too.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee, Ray.

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood. 40/70, with plenty of sun. That’s bragging weather.

Yesterday, the daughter and SIL, along with the 2 grandkids, came to visit. While the SIL and I worked on 2 vehicles, my daughter threw some delicious rib-eyes on the grill. I repaid her kindness by gifting them a Ford Focus for the granddaughter. This morning, I’m a little sore, due to several hours of standing and stretching, working on the cars. Today may be iced tea while sitting in the sun.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee, Ray.

It's 24 and cloudy in MA this morning, rising to 42, later

Yesterday, Brenda visited the laundromat, while I vacuumed, to get ready for our granddaughter's visit.

Today, we'll enjoy a visit from her, while our son goes to the dentist here in town.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

This is the blighter.
It does run a delayed cut off.
It has no humidity switching just on the on/off and the isolator. The only variable seems to be a speed switch.
I do have two more variable speed and auto switching varieties elsewhere in the palace.
I'm tempted just to leave it turned off like it's been for over a decade. But when there's an itch to scratch?
On a second look I would think that's the delay length adjustment.

Interestingly are they only offered as exhaust fans...
The Select AX100TR is a basic single speed axial fan with anti-backdraught shutters and built in guide vanes to improve airflow it is controlled with a timer
Possible named shutters are stuck open, so when the other fans in your place operate, air is drawn in through there?

Some instructions for this sucker:
But I guess I found the cause of error:
Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
Well, there you have it... you're welcome... :roflmao:

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee and...oh my, apple and plum strudel!! Yes, pleeeaaase!! :)

It is snowing lightly as I type. That should stop for a while, then start back up again early this afternoon and dump some more white stuff on us by tonight. The current "warm-up" is in full swing: -10°C/14°F with no windchill (unusual!), going to a high of 32°C/0°F with a feels-like of -5°C/23°F.

The extremities continue to improve. Right hand is just about back to normal; left index is still a little inflamed and won't bend all the way, but doesn't hurt much. More "elephant meds" today to keep the positive trend going. I'm also on a "flex" day today, so no work - always a good thing. I shall run a few errands before the flakes fly anew.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Still trying to figure a fan that blows inward....... that's a first for me. I could see an air exchange system, but just a regular fan-fan.... doesn't jive.
No, I agree the other two identical bathroom fans extract. This runs in reverse. Hence the new grey hair look. Or more grey hair look. Grey = gray.
There is no exchange system these are meant to get rid of condensation and the reason they're never used is we don't wash!
But......with having an embarrassment of riches when it comes to bathrooms they're never damp. So no need.
I think I shall venture in the loft when it warms up (if ever) and see what one can see. But like I said this is the 1.5 side of the house and the windows in the roof space are heavily boarded in there. Just can't remember how from memory.
Now, what about fitting dishwashers?

Good morning all!
Thanks for the scrumptious hot start Raymond!
Your fan issues blow me away!
I know the “other side’s” electrical is a slightly different ball game than ours, so I shan’t try to contribute!

We enjoyed a great afternoon on the Caloosahatchee River, our pontoon motor worked a treat! It took a lot of coaxing to get it operational, but we persevered.
Miss Judy has finally conceded that the boat should stay with us.

Presently 72/84F with a SSE breeze to cool us a wee bit.
Enjoy your Monday!

A late good mornin' to y'all from SoMD! The cat scratching at my door was today's alarm clock, and once again I was derelict in my chef duties to the 4-legged Prince of Purrsia.

I don't remember the temp when I checked...20- or 30-something...you're not missing anything here, Keith. A WFH day but also working a bit in the garage after it heats up from the kerosene heater. Trying to see if I can refinish some wheels for the daughter's car that I got cheap off eBay. They don't need to be show quality, just remove the aluminum corrosion and scuff 'em for some paint...we'll see.

As for the fart fan, if you haven't already figured it out reversing the wires won't make it spin the opposite direction. AC doesn't work that way. Only thing I can figure is there was some sort of renovation done and that fan was an exhaust from another bathroom and it exited in a different place? Or they put it in backwards. Any empty Newcastle bottles tucked up in there as well to signal the builder's state of mind back then?

Take care y'all!
