Should I buy ST1100

For the past 15 years it was not in the garage but in the living room of an older gentleman :)

The old guy was obviously an art lover. A Wineberry ST under halogen lights is a thing of beauty.

If the ST was serviced as per the Honda schedule then presumably all hoses ( and everything else tied to mileage and time )have been replaced at the 10 year interval so you good to go until 2021 at least.

Yes, there is some paper provided from service. I'll pick it up next week so I'll try to take some more pictures of parts under all plastic.

ST11 is at home now :) But... If I have a choke on then it starts and dies :-/ I'll try to change the air filter and fuel filter. Have you had this problem before?

If you are saying that the Bike starts with choke but will not run without choke then....
This sounds like CLASSIC idle jets plugged up due to not running for some time.

It starts with a choke and dies after 1-2 seconds.

Like others have said no motorcycle including these like to sit with old gasoline in the tank and carbs. Sounds like fuel problem. Start with fresh gasoline with a can of seafoam poured in the tank. If your lucky maybe it will clear out.

I have a newer Honda from 2018 but do not drive as frequently as before. I feel it might be as good to sell it and buy something cheaper. What do you think, you who have experience with ST motorcycles, is it worth buying ST1100, 2019? I have the opportunity to buy one from 1998 with 10,000km or 6200miles in fairly new condition for about $2000.
Here is a short video from yesterday when I was testing ST1100:
Get it——-best bike you’ll ever own.
Been riding for 56 yrs and owned my 2000 since new and had many bikes but the ST is the best bike I’ve ever owned and has done 185,500 miles (200,000k +) and never missed a beat—-until recently when I had to repair the water pump.

I fell into the ST trap four years back. Bought a garage queen with just 16000 miles on it. I went through all the maintenance in the Honda manual, just as piece of mind as the bike had been parked for 20 years and traded in on a Harley Davidson.

Basically, everything was as it should have been except:
One of the air vent hoses was crushed into a U shape...no idea.
Thermostat housing was corroded at the hose fittings, one badly.
Rubber handlebar grips, peg rubber and the like were hard with some cracks.
It hadn't been cleaned under the plastic since new probably.
Plugged vent in the gas cap
Leaky vacuum fuel shutoff valve
Kind of unimpressive list of problems.

Since I have restored old bikes since mid 1960's I couldn't resist:
Thermostat,
ALL hoses...air, fuel, water.
Timing belt
Spark plugs
air filters...there are two
oil filter

For a 24 year old bike, at the time, I was impressed with both what I saw and did not see. Most of the work was unnecessary, just the result of conditions I have found on many previous 'old' bikes.

This winter, I am rebuilding the carbs....pesky raw gas smell in the garage.....and replacing the fuel pump (still works, just a double scoop of OCD)

There were no squeeks, leaks, drips or such, and the bike was in remarkable working condition for one that had been abandoned in the back of the garage for so long......I've encountered nice looking nightmares from that condition.

Guess I'm saying, If the 1100 looks good and rides well....go for it. I don't think you will be disappointed.
