Should I buy ST1100

I have a newer Honda from 2018 but do not drive as frequently as before. I feel it might be as good to sell it and buy something cheaper. What do you think, you who have experience with ST motorcycles, is it worth buying ST1100, 2019? I have the opportunity to buy one from 1998 with 10,000km or 6200miles in fairly new condition for about $2000.
Here is a short video from yesterday when I was testing ST1100:

I'd buy it. Looks great. Long as it drives as well as it looks.

Only problem I can see is how often you ride. If you ride infrequently the gas can evaporate and leave behind deposits in the carbs. Eventually that will keep it from running well. Not a unique issue to the ST1100. Just a fact of carb bikes.

Exactly how it felt when I drove it yesterday :) Is there something special to do or is it enough to refill with new fuel?

Wow, that’s really a nice bike, and the price is right. Agreed, plan on riding it if you buy it, or at least put some gas stabilizer in the tank from time to time if it’s going to sit for an extended period. The worst thing to do is let it sit (that applies to any vehicle). What kind of 2017 Honda do you have that it seems you’re looking to sell?

If it runs well and rides well, I think you’re done. Just check the date codes on the tires. If original, they have to be replaced. With that low mileage, it’s likely everything else is good. You might want to consider changing all the fluids, even if low mileage (if the fluids are original).

Dunno about the fuel over there but here in the states they are pushing ethanol on us. I try to get ethanol free in the winter months when riding isn't planned. If not possible I add fuel stabilizer.

I'm guessing your newer bike is fuel injected.

I own an Africa Twin -18 :)

That motorcycle appears to be very well cared for. Based on what I saw in your video, I would pay $2,000 for it without any hesitation.

One thing you need to be aware of: it is 21 years old. Some components - mostly the rubber ones - perish with time, not mileage. So you might need to do some maintenance over the wintertime (perhaps not this coming winter, but some year in the future) such as replacing coolant hoses, diaphragms in the carburetors, etc.

I have a 2001 ST 1100 and I have not yet had to replace any of these parts... but I am aware that if I want to have 100% reliable service from the bike, I should soon take it apart and proactively replace some of these things, rather than waiting until a problem develops.

Take a look at the date stamp that is on the tires. If the tires are more than 6 years old, you might want to consider replacing them, even if the tread appears satisfactory. You might also want to inquire when the brake and clutch fluids were last changed - if the fluids do not appear to be clear when you look at them through the sight glass, it might be prudent to bleed the systems and put new fluid in.

It also has brand new tires and in 2011 the timing belt was changed. It basically went back and forth to service
and it is serviced according to the plan that comes from Honda and has all the papers, receipts...
For the past 15 years it was not in the garage but in the living room of an older gentleman :)

I have had a 1991 for just over four years now. Rode it the 90 miles home from the dealership...no problems. Rode it around for four months while I collected up the hoses, fluids and rebuild kits (just in case). Then I removed the plastic and replaced everything that didn't look 'just right'. Most of what I did was unnecessary, but I didn't know that until I had removed the part in question and compared it with its NOS replacement. Kept some for spares.
Got a 2006 ST1300, also a great deal, thinking I would replace the 1100. Still have and ride both...no regrets.

I would have no problem with that particular bike. I logged over 200k miles on an 91 ST1100. It's being passed on to my son. I moved up to a ST1300. I LOVE the newer one, but there were some things I like better on the 1100. Good Luck. I'm sure you will have a decade of enjoyment out of it.
I guess I have trouble wrapping my head around why these bikes are so cheap! I know they’re old, but I wouldn’t part with mine for such a low price. I guess I’ll have mine til I die.
Good Lord I hate autocorrect.
