OK this does sound interesting, pretty steep price though and I wonder if it's polarized...

Wow, that is pretty cool, can't believe how quickly it changes. But at € 249.00, it won't be replacing my drop down sunshield.
 
Well, talking about steep prices, I dropped a Sena SLR II into it now... even on sale they're asking € 260,- for it (300,- regular...)

But I like the inconspicuous appearance... all snaps right into place, well designed so far...

A bit talkative at times... [hello!]... [preparing headset]... [headset ready]... [remote connected]... [recharge remote!]*... [audio connected]...

* the thing has a 3V "penny battery" inside, nothing to charge there...

It's a shame that the new Neotech3 uses something completely different than the Neotech2. Guess they are both (Sena and Shoei) hoping a new model of one will help sell the new model of the other. While I love the idea and looks of an integrated comms unit, I can't see how they are very profitable. There's got to be a limited amount of them sold as folks can attach any external comms unit on a helmet that accepts a built in one.
 
I had the option of buying my N-2 with integrated comms, but didn't because that doesn't have a phono / straight- out option.
I like plugging in my WIRED Etymotics earbuds, as I've said before, in-helmet speakers are no protection against wind noise and hearing loss.
So, if you use earplugs AND helmet speakers, there are two devices at cross purpose to one another.
The Sena 50S has the boom mic and a phono-out plug, and I can recharge it on the bike without having to remove anything.
I've only needed to charge it on my return trip from RawHyde / Kalifornia bringing home the GSA, but I just ran the cable from the USB charger on the bike straight to the helmet, and it charged pretty quickly.
But I suppose future models will do away with that feature (speaker / audio out), just as most modern phones no longer include a headphone jack.
As I don't do calls on the bike, I've not yet used the microphone except to return a missed call once I stop, and it IS convenient not having to remove the helmet for making a call.
Haven't even looked at the N-3 yet.
 
I have both a Neotec & Neotec2. I have a SENA 30K on the Neotec and a SENA built in on the Neotec2. I'm very disappointed with the SENA in the Neotec2. It is very limited. And I have to use a remote to control the volume, due to those buttons on it are too small for my gloves!

The SENA 30K on my Neotec is what gets used all the time.

I just pulled the trigger on a pair of Cardo Freecom 2x's. All the Cardos have a standard 3.5mm TRS connector so you can add whatever speakers or earphones you'd like. Comes with JBL speakers so we'll give those a go first (with foam earplugs) before seeing about trying earbud-plugs.

Also waiting for the new Neotech 3 to come out to see how it fits. It's only $30 more than the current Neotech2 and from what I've read it's a much better / quieter helmet.

$30 That would be nice. Basic white, $1099 vs $1289 around here. Have the original neotec with sena Smh5 and works ok. Tried neotec 2 a few times and not as comfy as mine. Waiting for neotec 3 to see difference?

I have never bought a new helmet that was as comfortable as the previous helmet, it seems I need to endure 3 or 4 uncomfortable rides while the new hemet reshapes my noggin. It might be comfortable for 5 to 10 minutes at the dealer but after an hours ride probably not so. I was told that if it doesn’t feel too tight after the first few rides it is likely too large.

That’s true. Mine always seem too tight in cheeks at first. These were too loose.
Neotec 3 option is custom fitting for first time. Extra $$$ though
 
I ran a Shoei helmet for about five years and found out over time that Shoei did not make a helmet to fit my head. Went back to Arai, It was like putting on a pair of gloves that were properly trained. Proper fitment specialists are hard to find. Mine was Arai rep at motorcycle show, have not found anyone as good since.

Agree - searching for a new helmet is maddening and a good fit specialist near non existant...
So far targeting an Arai Quantum X and AGV 6 S.... its damn hard to find any stock of these.
Online purchasing is a non starter.
 
I ended up going to Cyclebarn for a fitting with an Arai helmet I had no intention of buying. Then had to order it and it was a couple of weeks out of stock. When I got it it still smelled like it came off the line. Reason I went with Arai is because I had one before and knew it would fit. They do have a good website for fitment. then trying to find one to try on is a pain.
 
and if you're still continent of urine and feces, ablet to compose and write the note above and not in too much pain, then I'd agree that the bucket did its job well!
