Shipping out of boston!

How far did you get today? That wind gets bad in open Midwest was it from the south? Motels are nice after a long tough day like that. Hopefully some good grub nearby.
Im shocked. I usually do around 250_300. Today i did almost 400. Rt2 is really fast. What shocks me is that i took a lot of stops as usual. I didnt change my way of riding at all. The wind came up and i dropped five miles an hour approx, which means i dropped to 75 mph. There were fife spots where i waited at least 15 min to go thru and passed at 55 because i could not pass. I dont get it.
I went thru a tank and a half, so that makes sense, and i lost an hour to time change. I guess it all added up.
People drive really fast out here and i think it would be rude of me not to follow along.
Heres a funny! I pssed a guy on the right at about 80 and next thing i see a suv behind me. Im thinking its a cop, so i slow and watch. Next tinng you know he blows by like im parked. He averaged about 85 and i used him as my rabbit for a long, long time! I owe him a thank you!
The wind gusts here demand total bigilance. You can see them coming with the dust and all.

For sure listen to ToddC. I was pulled over in ID for 20 minutes but he let me off finally after making sure I hadn’t any speeding tickets in the last 2 years. After that I only go 5-10 mph over the limit on the highway but always the limit through towns. The rabbit is the way to go but not always a good view. Make sure you carry bottled water and snacks as the towns gets more sparse. Wishing you a safe and fun day.

Left before the sun. Everyone around here loves that absoloutely shitty podered creamer in their coffee. The worst cuppa ive had in a while. I gagged some down and will find a restaraunt and get some there.
I didnt know i motelled less than a mile from the nd state line!
This pic shows so little of what i saw, but its ok anyway. Im pretty sure thats a smoke line. 49224222-9179-4268-8945-DA6AB5129C5D.jpeg8BC96AF5-953B-416F-B4F1-D82C9F0FEBD1.jpeg

I never race thru towns. It seems so disrespectful.

The day ends wet! Was sweating my tush off yesterday and today im in a hoodie, wind gear and winter gloves! Got my miles and ended up at a laundro. I pity the housekeepers at the motel i left. I was a bit stinky!
While im at the laundro, i rerouted my usb port and installed a cigarette lighter in the left pocket. Stealth charging! The new pump needs the lighter. Ill never own a rechargable pump again. What a pain!
I was talking w a guy that knows montana and he told me they drive a bit fast there. I have not checked my tire preassure for a few days and look forward to doing that tonight. Montana tomorrow!!!74A11FF4-8E49-4EAA-9350-E9F4956CEA11.jpeg

Looks like you could have done the laundry by strapping it on the back with a bar of soap.

have you checked the oil? Only time I burn oil is when going 75+mph all day in the heat.
what town did you get to today?

You will love MT. The valleys are wider and the mountains much bigger. It seems to go on forever...
Plus you can cover some miles quickly...!
T

The mountains must be near! Hope you get some sunshine!
Mountains are quite away. And, i suspect that is where the fires and smoke are. Fingers crossed. I badly want to see neah bay for no reason at all.
Supposed to be sunny tomorrow. Im a bit concerned about the finances. EVERYTHING is more expensive.
How do i set up a stowners go fund me!

You have to slow down then to save on gas with better mileage (less oil burning). You need to camp more and wash your clothes less. You aren't even halfway. When you get to the kids' place, make sure you charge them double the going rate for babysitting.

want a great ride to a great campground, Woodbine Campground near Nye MT. On the backside of Bear Tooth, It fills fast but the road in an out are very scenic .

There is art in clouds! Im going from 75 mph to 30 mph, dependant on the rain. Once i got going and was out of the traffic i felt pretty good! Stopped for breakfast at the “ wild west” and love it. Im in montana now. 5F7A0103-DABE-43BF-B565-377A9ABFD538.jpegB4DC77A1-3D74-4B4D-9277-70DD93D3815C.jpegBA73690D-FD4A-4DCB-85A7-E5D43B9414CD.jpeg
Can't be Montana!!!
MT is nothing but big, blue, sunshine-filled skies!!!

I've been drenched in Montana.

Well, its very hard to slow down! Too much fun! Im gonna go jed clampet and dry my clothes as i ride and maybe a few more supermarkets.
Im gonna charge my kids and grands extra hugs and kisses!

I recall doing the drive across Highway 2 way back when, summer of 92 I think. Nothing but a lot of serene emptiness. Got tagged for speeding in Montana; ticket was $5 on the spot for "wasting of a resource", i.e. gas by going over the limit.
