Helmets Shark EVO GT Helmets ? Looking for advice.

Your complaint of heat with your helmet raises a question, do you ride with the face shield open or closed.? The only time my face shield gets closed is if it's raining or cold. I find it not perfect but reasonable in the heat, all things considered.
Have really only been using a full face. I really like the idea of being able to use the open face mode

If you've liked HJC helmets in the past, you might want to look at this one. It has a 95% rating. It might be my next one.

Chris
I've been researching these HJC RPHA 90s helmets and this would be my top pick overall right now, although in white , not the carbon fibre. There are better/lighter I'm sure like the AGV Sportmodular Shawn K uses is very highly rated. But for some reason here in the remote northern wilderness of Canada the AGV is about $1200 plus 13% tax whereas the HJC RPHA is about $650-$700 and the tax at GP Bikes near Toronto where I live. The value is a concern in particular as I will be in the market for new tires, headset, gloves, boots, rear tip over bars, maybe a GPS ( or just my iphone not sure on that one yet). That's why I'm on this site ! Best ST resource for sure ! Hopefully be able to get out on some rides and meet some of you guys in person too.

Recently bought a Sena Outrush modular from Fortnine, and have had a Scorpion EVO modular for a number of years (no built in comms but I added a Cardo). Haven't ridden with the Sena yet so no comment, generally modulars are a bit noisier than full faced but easier to put on.
Helmet venting does help in the heat (if you are moving obviously). I never ride with the chin bar up, don't think it would be a good idea at speed. The Scorpion chin bar is removeable and becomes a 3/4, I do ride that way in hot weather sometimes. Number one importance is fit & comfort, oh and modulars are a bit heavier too, if that is important to you.
PS Welcome to the site!

Thanks for the welcome STflips. I just noticed the ONSTOC banner and see you're in Whitby. Bought my ST from a guy in Pickering about a month ago. I will definitely connect in spring with you and the group.

Hey Shawn thanks . I started looking at shipping from Revzilla to Canada, the exchange rate etc . Then I just found this on sale locally ! Covid 19 permitting I will be able to try on at GP Bikes; and compare to HJC, Shark etc in person.

I only wore Aria full face helmets up until 8 yrs ago. I wanted the flip up convenience for going into a store, talking to someone, getting more air on my face & eating/drinking. Even looking into your tank bag is easier. You won't regret the switch at all. BTW, I went with the Shoei Neotec 2.

You might want to call GP to see how long the sale lasts + I find that often the sale is on discontinued models and as time goes on all the common sizes are gone.

I just purchased a LS2 Valiant from GP and I'll do curbside pickup early next week. They're still closed for in shop sales and I wanted to lock in the sale price I got. If it doesn't fit I'll just return it and then wait until they're open so I can try a few on for fit. They told me no restocking fee and as long as I don't remove any stickers or tags the helmet can be returned.
