Replacement Headlight Bulbs

So, I went back and tried putting the boot in place before installing the emitter / fan assembly. I like that better- thanks for the suggestion.
The reason I asked is because I gave someone instructions to install the F2 bulbs the same way that I installed my G6 bulbs- base first, then boot, then emitter/fan assembly outside of the boot. I became concerned that I had given him a bum steer as they say. I have never seen an F2 bulb and when I saw your pictures I thought that maybe they could not be installed the same way as the G6 do. Glad to know that the F2 can be installed the same way that I installed the G6 bulbs.

I'm not real clear on the airflow pattern so I dunno whether the boot would deflect / interfere with the fan output or not.
Just WAG here but I think outside the boot has a better chance of air flow hot or cold. The fan is cooling what needs to be cooled and I'm betting that's not the emitters.

My G6s are installed with the fans outside the boot and I haven't had any trouble.

GREAT pics BTW.

Thanks. It's a whole lot easier to see what you're doing - and get clear photos - with the tupperware off. Enough easier, in fact, as to make it worth the trouble. (Tupperware re and re is my least favorite part of ST maintenance.)

My replacement lights arrived today. They are visually indistinguishable from the Eviteks, and didn't take a month on the slow boat to get here (or if they did, it wasn't while I was waiting for them...). That alone is worth the price difference versus dealing direct, IMO.

And now I have a spare bulb- something that had vaguely nagged at me in case I'd had a problem while out "in the wild". I wasn't sure whether I could mix an LED and incandescent and now I don't have to. Just have to find a safe place to stash the spare.

I switched to LED headlight replacement bulbs along with projection LED marker bulbs located above the headlight bulbs. This combination made a huge improvement in nighttime visibility and improved being seen buy others during the daytime.

Unavailable is useless.

I need a little contrast.

Those are amber incandescent bulbs. I'm on the lookout for some really bright LEDs that are more yellow like the fog lights I see on some foreign cars or my old Cibié fog lights.

I run HID's and they are awesome. Huge amount of light and I haven't had any problems. You also have options of the color temp.

Looks like your dog is ready to hit the road.

That's my 'Wing buddy's dog, who passed recently. I got to dog sit her he and his family were on vacation and she supervised when I worked on my bike.

She loved sitting in that truck because she believed that if she did one of us would take her to the P-A-R-K to chase the B-A-L-L. Nobody could say either of those around her or she would go crazy.

Great dog.

I love it.

Great looking dog. Thanks for the back story.
"Come on girl, wanna go to the park [and chase the BALL]?" :run1:

FTFY.

STGui,

The bulb finder says your bike takes a 168, then directs you to compatible bulbs, 194 being more common and plentiful.

SuperBright has a 194 that will give 260 lumens:

I found about the same LED on ebay, same price, amber, for my ST1300 turn sig bulbs, works well.

Not the brightest bulb in the box, but good for an amber.

Thanks. I've spent many hours perusing the SuperBright site. In this case I'm looking for a cooler bulb than amber. Something like a Wratten 8/K2 yellow. The position bulbs are already amber. I don't care to swap LED for incandescent if it's just going amber to amber.
