Another cause could be hanging on part #5 in this diagram. The spring is supposed to push the pads down but if the edge of the pad got hung on the side of the spring it could stop it from sliding against the pad and cause this type of wear.
Well I will find out shortly. I think that was what Mellow was referring to also.
The new pads are supposed to be in on Wednesday, I have Thursday and Friday (plus weekend) off.
I really don't think it was salt or corrosion on the pad pin, it looked worse then it was. Too have this much wear it had to be happening for awhile. The salt build-up is only occurred in the last month or two, and because there is salt on the roads, the bike hasn't been too much.
We have a winner! Been finding this alot lately mostly after tire or pad changes.
I put the GYTT on there a few months back... wonder if I caused it?
