Do you have a police model? The lower frame, that the boxbattaches to, is different than the regular ST1300. As is the seat (there's a hook to attach to the box If memory serves).
If you still need one, I should have my.old one in storage someplace.

I do not have a police model. My 07 came with a Corbin seat but it doesn’t fit me. I got a factory single seat and it works pretty well. I don’t ride with a passenger so I’m looking to fill the gap. I’ve found a decent tailbag but there’s still a bit of a gap. Thanks for the info. Do you know if the police seat is different than the factory stock, non police? I’m trying to avoid 5he cost of a custom seat if possible. I’m close but there’s still room for improvement
Thanks again
M

As far as I remember, the only difference was the hook in the back:

It's there because there is no rear seat to hold it down. Once you remove the hook, it's just a regular seat.

Consulting this conversion guide might better illustrate the difference between the sub-frames.

The Corbin smuggler is a great way to use the space back there. I have one and love it. It is expensive, however, and may negate your need not to spend much on a custom seat.

I'm a little confused. You wrote that you do not have a police model ST1300, and that you have picked up a factory seat. Is it a civilian model factory drivers seat? If it is the civilian model drivers seat, and you currently have nothing behind it, what is holding it in place?

If you did put on a civilian model drivers seat you can put any model year ST1300 rear seat on to fill the space. All of the civilian rear seats are the same, all model years.

Or do you mean that you are thinking about trying a police model drivers seat in the hope that they are different and more comfortable than the civilian model. A police model drivers seat will hook in to place but you can't simply put it on by itself without making other changes because of the reasons that Nexus mentioned above.

I'm thinking its a one piece close Corbin, they are tight. So he got an OEM front and needs a pillion seat.

I have a stock front seat which fits very tight in the highest position. I hoped the police trunk would fill the gap and give me extra storage.

As @Nexus replied, it isn't that simple. If you have a civilian model, put on an OEM rear and ride it, if you have a police model, it just got complicated. The rear section of a P model is different, if yours was converted to accept that Corbin, the police "trunk" won't attach as the bits were removed. Can you post pictures of your rear frame section?

This is a civilian model

That is why I asked. If he has an OEM civilian front seat then he needs a civilian rear seat to hold it on. If he has a police model front seat a civilian model rear won't work.

The Police "trunk" won't give you extra storage, unless you cut it open and make a sudo-smuggler..Conversion.jpgInner Box.jpg
