Old Enough To Remember?

In the 60’s I had a line controlled model airplane with small babe bee engine. Got dizzy going around in circles. Similar to picture

Is that picture reversed? I thought they were like nascar and only turned left. :)

I think the Baby Bee was the .049 with a Pee Wee being the .020 and the Golden Bee (gold colored tank) was an .049 with a special and bigger tank that would allow you to fly upside down.

I had a spring starter on my .049.

I still build flying models. Don't fly the control line models anymore, though. My most recent 'finish', built from plans and my stash of period parts. Got several in progress. This one would fly counterclockwise. I do remember our left handed club members building these to fly clockwise. Still can't focus up close to continue with them just yet. Eye doc says I need to wait 'til the middle of next month to get new glasses. Likely I'll catch up on riding, if such a thing is possible, and hit the workshop when/if bad weather returns.

I had one of those too. I also had a Cox Baja Bug. I just sold the Baja Bug a couple years ago as well as the Cox dune buggy I acquired somewhere along the way.
This was one of my favorite toys back in the day..... I had the set.

Major Matt Mason and by Grabthar´s Hammer I have just seen that you can get them on e-bay for a hundred euros a figure.

Thank you! I had those as a kid too, along with a spaceship that was 2 or 3 foot tall and some of those other things as well! I had forgotten!

I still have a Major Matt Mason and the sled. I have some sort of inflatable space shelter too.

The red one was Sgt. Storm.

I still have my Thimble Drome Prop Rod from mid 60’s. My Dad tethered it to a hunk of iron in the middle of the garage, would run in circles until it ran out of fuel. Kids these days don’t know what they’re missing. :rofl1:
