North America "WILD CARD" TAG

John, without even reading your caption on first pic, I knew where it was then. Been over that pass so many times I couldn't begin to guess how many.

Sorry for the distraction but couldn't resist. Carole's 86 Wing and my 88 Wing, way back when we lived in CO.

Very nice Wings...

Old: Football Field
This is Wellpinit Jr High/High School in a small town Northwest of Spokane. JRob and his CTX are featured. He is changing to a clear shield since we ran into a little rain and overcast skies.

New: A train car not used as a train car anymore
This is Frank's Diner and you haven't had a good cup of coffee until you've been here.

Matching the "train car not used as a train car anymore":

The above train cars (4 total) are in use as a yogurt stand & coffee shop in Nederland CO.

Here's the new wildcard, an active mine or quarry:
attachment.php

The above mine (in upper left quadrant of picture) is Walstrum Quarry just east of Idaho Springs. This mine provides roadbase aggregate, concrete aggregate, and gravels for many of the the front range roads projects. Amazing how much is removed, but then again, perhaps not surprising as there are thousands of miles of roads that have been built from the quarry.

NEXT! :)

Old: Active Mine/Quarry
This is Central Premix and their small hole. The large one is a few miles further, but they won't let you take a picture on their property.
The second pic is the piles of crushed rock ready to make the North/South Freeway :rofl1:
(local joke.... a freeway that was supposed to be built 30 years ago and will be probably be another 50 before it is completed, but they keep taking the tax money for it...)

New: Car Wash (But you have to ride your bike until it is dirty enough to need it!!!)

I'll take that challenge....

Old:
This is Dave Daley, who owns Cheap Shots that is a motorcycle bar and he caters using his 1950's era Dodge BBQ. I took the Cheap Shots pic today, but the truck was not easily accessed so I'm using the last time he had it out.

The front end are two grill areas with the fold up hood panels. The cab is the smoker with racks. The pony keg on the back is where he puts his smoking wood. He was just returning from a 250 person wedding in which they wanted Mesquite.

The fresh air intake at the bottom of the windows has ducting that feeds the pony keg, and the "diesel stack" vents the smoker wood keg as well as the cab.

Not sure what a "themed town" is. Can someone please elaborate on this term? I was all set to go for the airplane until someone beat me to it.

Re: North America "WILD CARD" TAG

A town with a national theme, China Town. . . Etc. . .a good example would be Frankenmuth, MI. .

I am obviously not there, but good for example pics. . .

I think we'd take anything close... Chinatown in Houston would be one near you.

Old: unique sign

The deer sign used to say 4371 1/2, but someone must have recently removed the extra numbers so I picked another sign close by.
