ScubaDave sent me to a train station. This one, in Point of Rocks, MD is claimed by some to be the most-photographed train station in the country.
Now go find yourself an historic building. This one was "Capitol For A Day" as James Madison evaded British troops as they were burning Washington D.C. and the White House.
As I was taking the photos an older gentleman emerged and started chatting. It turns out he's 73 and the current Postmaster of Brookeville. (Brookeville is a "town" comprised of about fifteen buildings situated at a sharp bend in MD 97. Caleb Bentley's house is a handsome brick building just around the corner from this old mill.) He grew up in the DC area and gave me a nice bit of personal history; 35 years ago he enjoyed riding his Suzuki GS1000E but no longer has a sense of balance so his riding days are behind him. Talking with him was a very pleasant addition to the day, and to this stop.
