NGK Spark plugs

I have found the factory recommended plugs work great on cars and bikes. My bike came with NGK's and Toyota auto came with Nippon Denso. According to the Owners manual I can use NGK's in the Toyota. So I have 120K on my NGK iridiums in the Corolla and only use NGK's in the ST1100. NGK's are IMHO are the best brand plugs you can buy.
 
If you look at your used plugs, on the ground bar, it should have a slight color change near the bend of the bar. Where it attaches to plug base. The closer the change occurs to the tip. The colder the plug is running IN your bike. All this is factored into spec plugs. Once you choose hot or cold plug you can see if it fits your riding style.
 
Ordered U24FER9 Denso plugs and got NGK CR9EH as an equivalent instead. It was my understanding that the U24 Denso was more like the NGK CR8EH vice the CR9. Any thoughts on the CR9's for the ST1300? Safe to install or should I just return for actual Denso's or CR8's? The NGKs I received do not look counterfeit based upon the comparison pics I've seen online. Thanks.
As you probably know 2006 ST1300s came from the factory with either Denso or NGK plugs. In NGK the standard plug is CR7EH-9 and for hard and high speed riding the slightly colder CR8EH-9 is recommended. In Denso the U22FER9 was standard and the colder U24FER9 was the alternate. As such the plugs you got might be a tad too cold and prone to fouling if the bike isn't stretched out all the time. I think I would seek out the recommended heat range from the supplier. NGK CR7 or 8 depending on your use or the Denso 22 or 24.
