More or less useless mirrors on the ST1300A

My handlebars are covering somewhere between 1/3 and 1/4 of the rear view mirrors. On both sides. I can see the handlebars / levers on the top in the reflection, covering about 1/3 to 1/4 of the height, and about 3/4 of the width.

Are there some tricks to fix this problem? Without rising / pulling the handle bars or changing the seat height of course. Because the driving position is absolutely perfect in every other way.

Anyone? Or is this "one of the things" that one should learn to live with?

Not trying to be snarky , but have you tried adjusting the angle of the mirror? I actually had to think of how my mirrors look, and although I do prefer the view from the higher mounted mirrors on my NC700X, I have never had that problem on mt ST.

I am 6'1", with a 34" inseam- perhaps that makes a difference.

My first thought was, what kind of handlebars are you using?
Your mirrors should be adjusted so you see the blind spots beside the bike, not so much far behind you.
Maybe he installed multiple adjustment hell bars and has the angled in such a way to block his view?

I adjusted the mirrors on my ST to just barely pick up the outside of the panniers. For me on my bike this resulted in just the little finger and bar end visible in the mirrors. To see directly behind me I would have to shift my head slightly to one side.

Mine are adjusted similarly. I see a bit more pannier I think because I can see a little behind me with either mirror. Shifting my head slightly to either side gets the whole picture. I've not felt the need for additional mirrors either on the bars or bar ends. Not even the convex stick-ons. But preferences are preferences.

I think I get a bit of my hand in the mirror but it doesn't impair what I need to see unless it was an A-10 about to strafe me. And then it wouldn't make any difference anyway.
