The Café is open. The Italian Dark Roast is ready and the overnight muesli pots are full of zing.
Help ya'selves.
It's grey, it's cool, it's January.
You lot of left siders are apparently sending us right siders a storm later in the week, please don't feel you have to. Really, no.
Your big event is going to be covered over here for most of the day on the gogglebox, I haven't got a clue why, I'm officially clueless. But thankfully there's a knob to turn it on and off and I've got some'ats to be doing. I sold some stuff on ebay so that needs posting and I believe I can smell danish oil in my future. If it stays dry I might go back to the decking oil too. It's all blummin go. Pffffffftttttt.
And to bring things back to motorcycle theme, we should occasionally don't ya thunk, I'm going to order some waterproof leather riding britches. The price is too good to miss although I suspect the sizing will be difficult, especially with them being posted out.
We'll just have to wait and see I spose.
Av a gud un and remember, the knob goes both ways.
Upt.

I believe Canada leaves the commonwealth today, shame, get your stars and stripes ready.
God save the King.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the needed coffee, Ray.

8, feels like 2, high of 23. I love living down south.

I watched two football playoff games on TV yesterday and both were played while it was snowing. I had to put on a sweater and make some cocoa to get through it.

John

Thx Ray, very good zing!

5˚c/41f, a 20mph breeze, overcast, blue.

Mrs Stu really got the flu.
And Peter have been down too, but on the mend now.
He’s coming over in a bit to get treatment for a possible cabin fever as well.
Pfffft!

Have a good one, and check your papers!
Stu

"Life's too short to drink bad coffee."

Yoh! :coffee:

-3°/0°C, fog, damp, slight drizzle, windy... uncomfy outside...
Upon approaching my trusty Toyota in the garage, I found my GF still there besides her (not so trusty) Skoda... summoning evil spirits it demanded her to check ze oil level... pfffff...
Weird, neither my Toyota nor my ST's ever consumed oil... I lit the scene with the flashlight function of my cell phone (which reminded me that we in the EC have to "hack" Android phones upon delivery/setup to enable that feature), watched her pouring some expensive Castrol life fluids and saw her off... in a puff of smoke, how its the diesel's way...

Office, dull...

Home Nespresso, Office instant 3in1... and I liberated another muffin from last week's batch... sugar and saturated fat... like Twinkies will they last a thousand years without spoiling...

Checking status on my parts orders, found some aftermarket bar end-weights for the NT that should fit with the overly long heated grips without modifications, hence avoiding having to brake out massive power tools like the lathe and such...

Newsfeed?... pfffff...
Those who continuously benefited/received/made a living off gov support of course now moan and whine about the austerity course of the new administration...
No such thing as 'state's support', its all paid for by hard working tax payers... I see that clearly on the "onion leave" handed to me monthly by accounting...
Time will tell if the changes here in Austria bring more fairness though...

have a good one!

A hot cup of coffee is appreciated this morning. With maybe a shot of Canadian whiskey as I wean off the Kentucky bourbon in prep for the tariffs.
+3C to +8C this afternoon with too much rain and wind to consider getting the bike out. Will drop to -8C overnight and the green grass will once again be covered with some snow.
The lack of snow this winter is unusual to say the least.
Everyone have a great day.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the Italian Dark Roast Ray. It's cold in Rockville today so the warmth is much appreciated.

"How cold is it?!" the audience shouts. It's so cold, the inaugural ceremonies have been moved indoors. In actual numbers that's about 20°F but feels like 5, and that's about as many Fahrenheits as will be in town today. Congress must not have convened yet, is all I can conclude.

By the end of the day we'll have a new administration in place and only 7 Fahrenheits left to our names. There's no snow in the forecast but we do have a cold weather advisory in effect from 1900 hours this evening until 1000 hours tomorrow. As I said to the 86 year old widow lady across the court yesterday while I was shoveling her driveway, all of this winter weather is okay, as it will only heighten the sense of escape when we blast off for SE Asia tomorrow evening.

Speaking of that: I'm hoping that the very mild body ache and general malaise I felt yesterday evening were induced by said snow shoveling (the snow was wet and heavy and not deep enough to merit the snow blower, so I did it the old-fashioned way) and not by the onset of influenza. That would REALLY suck. You can bet that until I know for certain I won't be breathing a word of it to Mrs. Fun.

Stay safe and WELL everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee and potful of zingful zinginess, Ray!

Looks like there will be plenty of light today, but there will be no warmth in that there sunshine. The numbers are dropping, as predicted, and the daytime temps will bottom out at -16°C/3°F with a windchill of -25°C/-13°F. Our overnight temps will be in the "don't even think about it" range, and will still be in that category of brrrr tomorrow morning, when I will have to venture out to have a 360° scan taken of my jaw to see if the last bone graft looks viable. Sigh. Oh joy, oh bliss.

Right, gotta get a move on. Eveyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

good morning all. thanks for the Italian dark roast Ray . 31F on the dog walk with a lot stars, bright moon and not a cloud to be seen anywhere.
we have the day off for MLK Oh wait a minute I'm retired I have a lot days off. the temps should come out as the high should hit 60F. enjoy the day

stay safe

It was 19 when I woke up, we also have the extreme cold advisory, maybe snow by Wednesday. High today and tomorrow 30 and 31 - yes, yer correct, it's below freezing for the "highs".

Like Spring is coming.

If yer in Siberia.

So, how cold is it? It's so cold i won't even try to be funny.

No riding today. Kaiser probably could handle it, but would take me to long to prepare to ride... just another work day.

This is all standard fare for many of our northern neighbors, i get it... but it's not for those of us who live here to avoid it all. I don't care for all the extra clothes required, but I'm confident we will see the return of June in 2025.

After all, some are calling today Liberation Day.

Wishing you all the best Monday you can muster.

And the coffee is great, Ray!

Good morning all (nods head at folks,) and thanks Ray, for the coffee.

I'd have been here sooner but when I got up a 5am my phone blipped. Work's closed until noon due to the snow. Look out the window, and yuppers, it's a blizzard out there. Started around 10pm last night and it's just light snow now. They say there's at least 15cm down. Yesterday, it was almost bare everywhere. Today, not at all. It's pretty though. Headed out soon to invade it's glory with a dinosaur powered flinger of snow. That should be good, as it looks like it's heavy from the way the trees are laden.

Weather is -8 and cloudy, headed downward like Patty's weather, to -21 overnight. Brrrr.

Have a super day everyone!

Obo.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Ray.

It's sunny and 14 in MA this morning, rising to 23 with wind of 15-25mph. Brr.

So, we got around 6" of snow, yesterday, starting around 4:30pm
It actually started as rain, so I expect some ice underneath, as I snow blow and shovel.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Morning all, dark and early here! It's a bit chilly here, nothing like some of what the rest of you are dealing with, but chilly in geographical contextualness; -1C which I'm told actually feels like -4C. The high will be 4C with the sun peeking out here and there. I'm driving the car in today as I have a load of work work that I brought home with me on Friday that I have to haul back.

Obo, that's a boatload o' snow. Good luck with the flinging. Keith, good luck with the trip and avoiding any unpleasant illness. Ray, not sure what you're snorting and that it may all be ingest, but we are, and shall remain, loyal subjects of His Majesty.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning from SoMD! A crisp 22/-5.5 with a powdered-sugar dusting of snow here on the deck. Definitely going to be an indoor goof-off kind of holiday, but I have plenty to keep me busy in the office as the deep-freeze settles in for the next couple of days.

Sold another snowblower yesterday, a bit of an adventure with the incoming snow but not terrible. I did find out my old Dakota is only rear-wheel ABS though...missed a turn or two despite my gentle foot. But $180 richer for it. Maryland drivers are stupid, too. It does not matter what the conditions are, they will NOT be beaten off the line when the red light turns. Sheesh!

I did reward myself and ordered some handlebar muffs, so maybe some colder-weather commuting is in the future. I do worry about the salt though. Take care y'all!

Any coffee left. Coming up on 9:00 and it’s still only 8 degrees, although the sun is shining.

Last night, I made about 2 gallons of chili, but it was still too hot to store in the fridge, so I put the Insta-pot in the truck. Now, I have 2 gallons of chili flavored ice cream. I’m waiting for it to thaw, before repackaging. Today, I’ll be making a large pot of chicken stew. I’m stocking up for after surgery.
