Metal silt in radiator bottom.

Just getting ready to re-assemble my casings. Can you confirm the oil seal is installed with the grooved spring side towards the impeller?
I believe oil seals go in with the flat (solid casing side) toward the dry side and the rubber w/ the spring goes toward the wet side. That's what I have always observed, but I am not answering your question. A quick search of that question yielded this, "The side with the spring and recess always faces the oil you are trying to contain".

Yes propper assembly is kind of important especially if you don't want sparkly coolant
