I had missed this thread until finding it tonight while searching on another subject...feels like I have lost a brother. I first meet Fred on a RTE to Luling BBQ organized by LDDave. STill Fiddlin lead our ride from Spring to Luling. Fred had his stepson along as pillion rider. Keith's route unknowingly took us over a couple of miles of not very well maintained dirt road. I clearly remember our small group of ST riders stopping at the top of a small hill where the dirt started and debating whether to venture onto the dirt road or turn around. Fred's body language spoke louder than his voice that he was a bit nervous about riding on the dirt road. We did proceed down the dirt road, all without incident.
Here's a couple of pics from the parking lot in front of the BBQ. Fred's the one in the wild shirt (as Coop mentioned, a trademark of Fred) with his stepson alongside and the other guy in black coveralls needs no introduction.
