Helmets Long oval modular helmet selection

I like that this thread is still going. I have a long oval head and wear an Arai XD3 in XL. Last year, I went to the motorcycle show in Long Beach last December and tried on every modular helmet there. Even with it's astronomical price tag, I was considering the Shuberth Pro as i'd read it was more oval than any other modular helmet. No go for me 8^( No long oval enough. I stopped by the Arai booth to whine and snivel about no modular helmet from them. The guy working the booth was friendly and chatty. He said that every year when he goes to an Arai corporate meeting, he asks for a modular helmet. Before the show, they told him he didn't need to ask anymore but wouldn't say more. Hmmmmmm

I'm in the long-oval camp. I'd suggest trying the Scorpion Exo-1100 (or 500, they're the same except for shell material, with interchangeable parts). If you buy a Large, you can convert it to an XL or XXL by replacing the liner and cheek pads (for $35). That's also true for the Small-Medium shell.

The Shark Vision-R is also L/Oval.

LS2 FF386, 4 star SHARP tested, more features than a Neotech, long oval shape, under $200.

I bought a new Arai Signet-Q a couple of months ago and it fits like the proverbial glove. I had an Arai Quantum II (?) for the last 8 years that fit perfectly and the Signet-Q is supposed to be its replacement.

I bought one on line with red/white/blue graphics at a discounted price from a solid color one. I have always had a solid white helmet but for about $55 less I will take the one with graphics.

I know they are expensive, but when they fit my head like no other helmet and they last so long, the cost per mile/smile is justified!

Ride safe!
