Thanks for the non-milkshake coffee this morning Dave, and while I'm not ordinarily a breakfast kinda guy, I do love me some fresh sourdough... so yes, please.
31 out when I got up, put on a coat and watchcap (a beanie I guess, if you're a millenial - and few here are - , or a tocque if you live in Obo- or Andrew Shadow-land) and went out with a hot mug. Surprisingly tolerable, with bright sunshine and no wind at all, until my fingertips got cold and my hot coffee wasn't. We'll add 3 degrees to our high of 50-some'at by driving south to Montgomery again, to watch the Alabama v. Auburn game with Tom and Beth. The Tide has shot their season, and any chance of a playoff berth, with that dismal appearance against Oklahoma last week. It sounds like I'm a right football fan, but not really. I only follow Alabama due to their coaching legends through the decades. Bear Bryant, and lately Nick Saban. Kaiser will come with, but he'll be staying outside like he has before. Beth has a little dog that reminds me of a Corgi, but has a Chihuahua face. Not nearly as handsome as Kaiser.
We did meet a beautiful 4mo old girl dog on Thanksgiving when we were about to leave, but I forgot to mention in my T-G review here. So I will now, with a picture just for cuteness. Turns out, someone abandoned her on Lorna Road, which I drive every week or more, and this lady got her and gave her to a daughter in school at Auburn University. A college student? Yeah, good luck with that. But the pup looks like a genuine GSD.
KTM... what a shame. I haven't paid a lot of attention actually, but I heard, and was going to dive in at a later date. Not like I can do a lot about it, but as our business IS business, I want to know more. My 950 Adventure S was a lot of bike, my second "dirt bike" after the 650gs, and that V-twin motor was amazing. Ergos were nice, suspension better than most, right out of the box. I watched with dismay as they followed BMW and started building some of their engines in China and India, as the Austrians have made some memorable motors, in terms of reliability and longevity. (Did I just repeat myself again?) The Rotax comes to mind, which was in my 650 Dakar. But all that money! Damn. Reminds me of a recent losing campaign where a billion-and-a-half was misused here in the USA. But in both cases, it's like, "Hey, it's not MY money!", right? Real shame, it is.
So what else do I need to tell you before I get ready for a road trip in the Element? Oh, I remember. My Stihl chainsaw retaining nut? Come to find out, it's reverse threaded, just like a countershaft sprocket on a chain-driven motorcycle. Knowledge is a very powerful attribute. Well, let me correct myself here... CORRECT knowledge, properly applied, is a very powerful attribute.
I like Saturdays. Don't think I'll go into the office today.
Oh, I almost forgot! The cuteness. They call her Millie. (the puppy)
