Yo! to all my Coffee mates! Not to be confused with milkshake ingredients!

Green Mountain Dark is in the pot! Freshly baked sourdough with eggs-any style
sausage(real meat for those concerned) hash browns and donuts for the health conscience!

Dave

btw, why am I up so early??? had to bake the sourdough:shrug2:

Good Morning Dave and everyone soon to be in the pot!
Sourdough! What a lovely concoction.
Back when I used to travel for that 4-letter word, I always made sure I had it in SFO - Yum!

Last night's bonfiring went very well. Saw all the "in-crowd" in Bahama while wine flowed merrily - and there were sausages too.
Keilbasa of course (but I passed - never really liked that stuff).
I burned up a hotdog and enjoyed that instead.

It was a cool night with coldness approaching rapidly after Mr Sun left.
The fire raged and the wine poured - I thought I heard a couple of Ho Ho Ho's - Nah....couldn't have been...

I might have some new guests come by today to see the shop - who knows?
It's always interesting to share what everyone's been doing.
Today will be some projects in the shop and barn.
Nothing engine-pulling however - small stuff!

Y'all have a winderfill day!!

G'Day...

5°C, overcast, dull, gray... typical fall weather... remind me to reload the bird-feeder...

had coffee (not locally grown), soft boiled eggs (local farmed hen fruit), fresh self made bread (from local grown grain & flour), "barrel butter" (off local milk, from local, happy cows, grazing on local, natural pastures)... pfffff, even the few grains of salt I'd sprinkled on my egg where mined locally...
I'm all in for real meat sausages, pure, local grown, better for the environment then all the (chemical) additives they glue that veggie stuff together...

GF rummaging in ze kitchen, prepping cupcakes and a full baking sheet with Chestnut Tiramisu... very seasonal...

Seems we expect visitors... apparently the whole family is gathering for a ritual "afternoon coffee & snacks"... not without reason though...
The occasion?
GF's daughter No 1 in her early 30ies decided (got persuaded?) to introduce (has to show off?) her new boyfriend... TADAAAA!
Poor soul... already feel with him... eye to eye with the all the "in-laws"... and her mom... that's tough... BTDT... didn't care much though... ;)
(dang, just realized that this makes me a "step DIL"... "the crazy uncle with a big, heavy motorcycle"... awkward... :sneaky:)

have a nice day, and remember to support your local farmers...

Ta me duckly.
Let's brekkie.
The weather, it's OK I spose. Someone else said it better than me. Probably some overrated tartan wearing Jock. It normally is.
‘When biting Boreas, fell and doure/Sharp shivers thro’ the leafless bow’r’, but in language we all understand, a bit blowy and a bit cold and where did all the effin leaves go to.
I was surprised to read about KTM yesterday, didn't know they were in dire straits. Seems like the EU gave em lots of money and the directors said ta very much and pocketed it. That's Money for Nothing I spose, nothing new it's just the modern Industrial Disease, at least they'll get to Twisting by the Pool, So Far Away , just the Walk of Life.
I feel for the shop floor workers, Will They Know it's Christmas Time At All.
Today will be spent on doing some'ats but no t'others.
Av a gud un and remember, family gatherings, meh.
Upt.

Thx Dave!
Splendid coffee, food and comics!
Good man!

The fireplace is now gone.
Today will be moving an electric output, hanging up some wallpaper, reinstalling two cabinets.
Invited to a small party at the inlaws place tonight….
Shrimps and wine, could be worse.

Another unusual mild day, 10˚ c/50f, rain, 15mph wind from Rays direction, somehow it smells like lamb.

Have a good one, if you’re moving an outlet, you only need one hole, not three, take my word for it!

good morning all. a coffee thank you to Dave. 48F on the dog walk with a very overcast sky.. dark and gloomy but still a good walk. got my running around done yesterday so today is kick back and relax. the high should top out at 76F with some clouds here and there. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, eggs, and sourdough Dave. Sausage works for me, too.

It's 29°F and clear in Rockville on this final day of November, where the temperature will rise to just 35 but the breeze will keep the feels-like to a very uncivil number; by 1600 hours it'll feel like 17. Brrrrrrrr! Time to put the goof clubs away for a while, I think.

The drive back home was very pleasant, as we took a much less congested and more scenic route than on the way down Wednesday. Virginia's rural horse country is just oozing with tradition and the patina of centuries of habitation. If I had $50 million to spare I might consider trying to buy an estate down there. It did spark another episode of "If we were to move, where might we go?" pondering.

Other than an hour or two of ukulele practice and some light housework / travel recovery duties my docket's empty for the day. Could be a good one for finding a cozy nook at a local adult beverage distribution facility and whiling away several hours with good friends.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good morning, all. Thanks for the coffee and sourdough, Dave.

Brrrr….flipping 24 degrees this morning, and I have to walk next door to let the neighbors chickens out of the coop. When I agreed to be chicken herder while the neighbors are out of town, they didn’t tell me the chickens had quit laying. Usually my pay would be about 10 eggs/day. Pfffftt. I’ve only gotten 2 eggs in 4 days!

Nothing planned for today, so I better get started

John

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Dave.

I'm glad I'm too dense to get all the inferenced innuendos today.

Snowed again overnight and everything is white. Most was still white before the snow, but this hid it all again. -3 and cloudy, headed to a sunny +3.

Think the Newfoundland trip of 2025 is roughed in for next year, piggy-fronted on to WoodStoc3. The Rock (no not Dwayne) will see us for 9 days. Yes, that won't really be enough, but with WoodStoc will eat up 2 weeks of vacay.

It's more like a teaser trip vs an extended stay vacation.

Hope everyone has a Super Saturday and kicks back and watches some old time Saturday Morning cartoons.

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for the coffee and sourdough, Dave.
I always look forward to your funnies.

It's 29 and sunny in MA this morning, rising to 38, later.
I actually saw a few snow flakes during the drive back to the hotel, last night.

Brenda and I just vegged out, yesterday, after our great Thanksgiving.
She extended our stay at the hotel, and we'll move out the day before our trip to Oregon for Christmas.

Today, we'll do whatever.
Brenda brought laundry, so that's on her list of things to do.
I'm supposed to take the Wing to the dealer for storage, so that'll probably happen, as well.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

I was surprised to read about KTM yesterday, didn't know they were in dire straits.
Till yesterday a well kept secret... they even bragged with record sales the past few years...
and it wasn't the EC financing them...

KTM (yep, talking about the Austrian motorcycle MFG here), cashed € 11 Million on short-time work grants/compensation/aid by the state (tax money!) during COVID...
the very same year their CEO gifted himself a € 7 Million bonus for that stunt; the rest probably seeped into share holder dividends/pockets...
And just yesterday they suddenly "declared" it bankrupt... € 2,9 Billion(!)... over 2300 people loose their job (unemployment -> more tax money)...
IMO a planned long term strategy, with those 2,9 Billion "missing" they'd already carefully opened plants in India and China (AKA moved production)...
And by bankrupting it they not only "saved" even more cash by bailing out the November and December paychecks (+ Christmas bonus!), they also avoided all sewerage payments due for terminating employments the regular way when simply shutting down facilities...
Wouldn't be surprised when it turns out that all the machinery has already been "stolen" (-> sold to their "overseas assets"...) so all the local creditors will get is an empty shell except a few worn desks, posters and beach-flags...
(Continental (German tire MFG) pulled a very similar stunt with our Semperit tire factory...)

So again a lot of cash flows upward, whilst those in the trenches won't see a cent...

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, yummies and chuckles, Dave!

Eet eez snowing. Not hard, but there are flakes floating around out there. We should see a few more scattered flurries for the next couple of hours, and then the rest of the day will be cloudy with sunny breaks. The temperature this morning is -1°C/30°F with a feels-like of -7°C/19°F, and this afternoon's high will be 2°C/36°F with a windchill of -2°C/28°F. Brrr-ish.

Oops, mug's empty, time for a refill. Thank you kindly. Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Ah yes, the Wonderful World of "Business Ethics". I used to know someone who claimed that MBA stands for "Mine Before Anyone's" and it's all too often hard to demonstrate otherwise...

MBA thoughts....

If you earn $15/hr, that's about 3 "family" sized bags of potato chips.
That's about 9 potatoes.
You're making 9 potatoes an hour.

There are about 20 medium potatoes in a 10lb bag.
That's just over 2 hours of $15/hr pay.

You can buy a 10lb bag at the store for under $6.

So, for your 2 hours of $15/hr pay, which appears to be $30, you're really getting less than $6.
