I recently acquired a Sena 20S. (I actually have the 20S Evo but it is my understanding that the basic functionality of the Evo is the same as the 20S and presumably similar to other Sena units as well) It has been a bit of a learning curve with the Evo but it is coming along. I have one issue that I cant get past regarding playing music using the Google Assistant voice commands with the Sena and my Galaxy S8.
Does anyone know how to get the Google Assistant to play music that is uploaded to the phone while using the Google Play Music app? Every time I try to play music from a particular artist in my collection the assistant either starts a radio mix of similar artists or depending on the artist I am trying to get the assistant to begin playing I get a response that states ‘the album is only available to for Google Play Music subscribers' even though I have the album in my collection on the phone.
I also have a question regarding Spotify. When I instruct the assistant to play a song or an artist on Spotify it acknowledges that it will play the selected artist or song but then nothing happens. When I look at my phone I see the Spotify app is open but the desired music does not play nor is the artist or song I instructed it to play queued up. What is queued up is the last song that was played. If I get music to play by manually interacting with the phone the only voice commands for music that are responded to while the music is playing when using Spotify are ‘next', ‘previous' and ‘pause'. I have searched but I can't find an answer for getting music to resume playing or getting Spotify to actually queue up the artist or song I want and then begin playing the music from that artist when playing music in Spotify. Does anybody know how to make that happen?
It would be nice if the desired action occurred regardless of the app when instructed through the Google Assistant. Also, is there another music app that can be used in conjunction with the Google Assistant other than Google Play Music, Youtube Music and Spotify that the GA forces you to default to? That is very limiting, especially when the only listed apps don't respond as instructed. Or perhaps is there another BT device that can be used for music that integrates with the voice commands of the Sena?
Being able to use voice commands is great unless you can't get the desired action to occur or there is no action.
