Is it Wednesday already? Apr 23rd 2025...

It's not just the toaster, they also try to load the dishwasher, it's mayhem, just havoc being wreaked everywhere.....

Which is precisely why I tried so hard not to come to my DIL's place here in Lansdale, at the insistence of Mrs. Fun, to "help out".

My SIL is a hoarder, so there are boxes and piles of junk everywhere in the house. I considered sharing a photo as illustration but thought better of it, so as not to cause an avoidable "incident".

She's also extremely sensitive about anyone touching said piles of stuff, even to the point of rotating a stack to make a wider less narrow path to walk. It takes nearly nothing to set her off, and a long time for calm to return once that's happened.

I'm glad to have gotten brownie points with Mrs. Fun for coming but will be even more glad and relieved tomorrow morning when we hit the road for home.

Morning Martin & All from mostly sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 64F, up from 45F (at least, I think we are out of the freezing nights now :pray1: ) and heading for a high of 68F. The winds a blowing already, from the S @ 6mph. I'm surelater, we'lll see them from the SSW @ 20 to 35mph.

I got the Tacoma serviced yesterday. And as suspected, the alignment was off. So they took care of that too.

Today will be "lawn day". Trim, mow and then weed & feed. I still have some weeds in other areas that will find themselves relocated, to my trash bin!

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ. Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Sounds like what I mom's house was like. When she passed away, we had a heck of a time cleaning it out! :censored:

I have a power light but no pumping water to douse the coffee in the basket. The heater-burner isn't warming, either.
Check it before you chuck it. Sometimes it is something simple and not the heater itself. I recently had the same issue. One of the wires to the heater had become detached. A quick dab with a hot soldering iron and it is good as new again.

Coffee break, So wife's on her way to Birch Bay, me Free! So plan to clean my Van and remove some of the stuff stored in the back of Van. Only want stuff to go to Birch Bay Trailer in it. Speaking of stuff I have ended up with My Dad's, wife's Parents, and My Mom's stuff. After 10 years we're still trying to get rid of a lot of it. Thank God for Market place. Cheers G

My Dad left a surprisingly large amount of stuff behind, too. We were fortunate, though, because after our initial triage and selection of things to be distributed to the family we found someone who collected everything else and hauled it away. He did the separation of salvageable/ salable items from the true trash, saving us a ton of effort. He was welcome to whatever money he got for selling what he could.

My SIL's situation is different because she's still here and very determined not to get rid of anything without a thorough vetting first. Case in point: she has a box full of old account statements from the extended family's greenhouse. The business closed probably a decade or more ago, all but one of the people connected to it are dead, and at least some of the records go back to the mid-1980s, but she insisted that they need her personal scrutiny before she'll allow them to be destroyed.

Wow.

Hoarding is a sad situation. I recall trying to navigate a situation on a file once where the insured needed to vacate their house because of a valid claim for damage. However, we had to find a sensitive way to deal with all their stuff and to prevent them from cluttering up the hotel room arranged for them while they were out of the house. It was......tricky.......
