is Honda (and Japan in general) punishing us?

Honda in their infinite wisdom is not giving us a sport tourer. The NT 1100 is still not coming to the US and it's available in like 3 colors and 2 versions in Europe

The NC 750X for 2025 comes in 4 colors in Europe. We will be lucky to get 1 if we get the NC 750 for 2025 at all (it's not showing up on powersports websites)

Yet you can still get a 2025 Honda Fury Chopper, 5 versions of the 1100 Shadow and 3 versions of the Grom!

The Yamaha 900 Tracer 9 Triple is coming in like 5 variations in Europe incl the top of the line GT+ which it doesn't appear we are going to get in fact Yamaha Powersports is only listing the Base Tracer 9

What have we done wrong? I have bought 13 Honda motorcycles and 9 Yamaha motorcycles. I feel so abandoned.

I assume Honda and Yamaha are looking at past sales data and estimates of future sales when making decisions in regards to what products to offer for sale and support in all of their markets.

Would be nice to know sales volume for various models in Canada, U.S., U.K. and Europe. Anyone know where this info can be found?

I imagine American Honda doesn’t expect to sell enough NT1100s to make it worthwhile. I doubt it’s personal.

I know several guys that would have bought one, myself included

Like I said somewhere else it was the Number 1 selling sport tourer in Europe in 2023. Honda sold 12,000 of them.

The Honda NT700V was a great bike. But it sat in back corners of dealerships where you'd never see it...and so it didn't sell.

Possibly, Honda is looking at the sales for that bike and thinking the US market doesn't want it.

It would've been an interesting choice to make if Honda had their NT1100 available when I ended up buying my BMW F900XR. But they didn't and I now have an XR. And now even if they bring the NT1100 to the US market, I'm not interested.

Well I'm astonished at that. I've seen quite a few in motorcycle dealers for sale, but hardly any on the road, and that includes around 6,000 miles on continental European roads this year. I would actually say that I have seen many more ST1100/1300s out than NT1100s :)

Is there any way to legally import either a new or a used NT1100?

If you own one and move to the US, do you have to abandon it?

One of the most popular Honda motorcycles in Europe/UK is the NC700/750X. It's consistently been in the top 10 since 2012. In the US it's a surprise to see it show up another year. I know it's not a sport tourer in this discussion but it illustrates how a popular motorcycle in the EC sells in small numbers in North America.

Yea, I also mentioned the NC 750x in post #1 of this thread ..... and also the Yamaha Tracer 900GT +

Likewise, a few miles in England/Scotland, many more in Europe, I've only seen an handful of NT's.
It's BMW plus alternative adventure bikes here.
I think I've seen more new Transalps than any other new Hondas. I don't think I've seen a new model NC on the road. The relaxed engine is never reviewed well here.
The smaller Beemers are becoming more popular too, maybe with the ageing demographic.
I live near one of the main roads up into Scotland and it's not unusual to see groups of 4 or 5 bikes heading north or south, there's many EU registered bikes amongst them, I would honestly say 9 out of 10 on a tour are on Beemers.
Other than that it'll be weekend racers on ageing sportsbikes.
Upt.
